I'm excited about this in general, but i'm I didn't like "Alice in Wonderland" or the Spider-Man trilogy, so that headline is making me have doubts. If this has the weak plot of Spider-Man and the CGI-mess of "Alice', I'm not interested.
Yeah. It's an animated film called Dorothy of Oz. Basically a sequel to the Wizard of Oz, with Dorothy returning. Probably won't be as dark and trippy as Return to Oz was.
This poster reminds me of a flaw in the 1939 movie that always bugged me. The Wizard's balloon says "State Fair - Omaha"... except that the Nebraska state fair is always held in Lincoln, the state capitol.
This is one of the few movie posters I have seen in years that I actually really like! Whether the movie is any good or not is besides the point. This screams prequel and gets the gist across wonderfully!
I'm actually surprised this poster is so fanciful. It is so evocative of the original movie. Seems like quite a risk for them not to go all "Prince of Persia" here.
Oz looks a lot like the banned Atlantica artwork from Disney's Little Mermaid.
Funny that they don't advertise it as from the director of the Evil Dead trilogy--but it's nice to see that James Franco is finally finding some work again after that long dry spell.
I think it looks potentially great. Unlike the Alice in Wonderland/Burton mess, the feel of Oz and its look actually fits in with my images from the books.
It looks just like Alice in Wonderland to me. And while I love Franco and Kuniz it'll probably butcher the books in just the same fashion. While people might hate Return to Oz, I still think it captured the bizarre fantastical elements of the Oz books, albeit being very dark.
