It will probably be released digitally the same day the CD is available in stores which is July 10th. The pre-orders from the PSClassics website started shipping on Monday.
ijay, he's cute and very talented, but I fell he was totally wrong for this part. I heard some of the others auditioning for the role and they were much better and more suited for it. I'm not alone with my assessment of his singing in this show. I also take offense with his statement that Sondheim called him and asked him to do it as a favor to him. Maybe he did, but that's not the way I heard it happened. I like him alright, I just think he is very overated.
GOOD THING GOING is one of my fav Sondie tunes and I like to hear it sung correctly.
^I actually like the way they did "Good Thing Going" in this production and on the recording, and I think Lin sounds great. It's a very slight change designed to make Lin sound his best. He's very well suited to a song like "Franklin Shepard Inc." but a solo ballad probably wouldn't have been the best choice to show off his abilities.
I am a little confused about the Overture, though. I thought Jonathan Tunick talked about not being happy with his decision to change the instrumentation for the "Good Thing Going" section, and I just assumed that he would have changed it back for the recording, but it's the same as it was in the live shows.
