Putting aside the main issue that Nessie isn't real, I don't understand their logic.

Because dinosaurs and man are on Earth at the same time evolution couldn't have happened?

I don't see the point.

I mean I literally (I know, we all hate that word now, but I mean it here) don't understand the rationale.

The possibility of one creature which may or may not actually be a dinosaur undermines "survival of the fittest"?

I wonder at what age kids will realize that it's all bs and question everything else they were taught as well.

Because Earth was created 6,000 years ago in one fell swoop, if you will recall. So, ergo, humans and dinosaurs had to live side-by-side, since they were created at the same time.

But the fact that there is a vast fossil record of thousands of creatures has always been an issue Creationists cannot maneuver around... there is so much physical evidence.

So the idea of humans and dinosaurs living together at present would serve to undermine this pesky evidence. If they're around, that means they have always been around, and weren't rooted out and supplanted by mammals through evolution. And Earth is the way it always was since God created it.

Creationists don't believe in physical evidence. That is why Nessie is such a convenient excuse. A belief in myth trumps physical evidence every time.
