I read this yesterday. I think the father expressed it perfectly:
"It's absurd to expect every 11-year-old to throw the ball on target. Everyone knows you've got to watch out. You assume some risk when you go out to a field. That's just part of being at a game."
Holy crap on a crap cracker! What is wrong with some people?
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."
Conan O'Brien
It's crazy, but her according to the article, she's claiming it was intentional, which makes it assault. I'm not saying she's right, but at least there's at least some reason for it.
I saw this on Hoda and Kathie Lee this morning. Utterly ridiculous, and the only way the lawsuit can really progress is if she can prove that it was done with malicious intent, which will be next to impossible.
Did you know that every day Mexican gays cross our borders and unplug our brain-dead ladies?
If the lawsuit for the injury isn't stupid enough, the whole thing loses credibility with:
Making matters worse for the now 13-year-old, Lloyd's husband has also filed suit against the Migliaccio family, claiming that he has lost the "services, society and consortium of his wife" as a result of her injuries.
Clearly the family is just fishing for money and believe an accidental injury is their winning lottery ticket.
