Just wondering, who are some of the famous people you've been lucky enough to meet?
People I've met over the years...
Dana Carvey Colin Quinn Tim Curry Jamie Foxx Kevin Smith Jason Mewes Conan O'Brien (x3 times) Bo Burnham - Comedian Stephen Lynch - Comedian Lee Evans Tim Minchin - (Australian comic I'm not too sure many people have really heard of, but he is really funny and talented, and even wrote the music and lyrics for "Matilda") Brian Poeshn - (Sarah Silverman Show) Adam Sandler - Last week in Chicago, when he was here for "CONAN", talked to his people at the Chicago premiere for his movie (while he was busy on the red carpet), and managed to secure myself a private, 2 minute meet and greet with the man himself, during which he signed everything I had, and was very polite!
Not too many. I've met Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes, Robert Plant, all 3 guys from the Stray Cats and Charlie Sheen. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
A lot. But I would have to say the most memorable was when I was a kid and my best friend's grandfather was a sports writer for the Phila. Bulletin. He took the two of us to Muhammad Ali's home in Cherry Hill, NJ. Not only did I get to spend time with him at his home, he took us for a ride in his new Rolls Royce. And he drove!
Oh god, between house managing a theater and the company I kept years ago, I met everyone. It doesn't excite me though, with the exception of two people-David Bowie and Jack Nicholson. the rest, so what. Even knowing Madonna. So.
i lived in the HOllywood area for about 6 years so I always saw famous people and never felt comfortable talking to them... then i finally did... he was pretty much not so welcoming and nice (and I approached him at Amoeba Music so it wasn't in some awkward place... he was alone just browsing the CDs)... decided i would never do it again... now it just doesn't excite me so much... they are just regular people with tons of money and ridiculous "rich white people" problems (as my friends and I like to say at times)... hahaha!
Ones that I have had sustaining conversations with:
Idina Menzel Jennifer Laura Thompson Daniel Goldstein (director of Godspell revival) Chris Peluso David Shire Richard Maltby Jr Marin Mazzie/Jason Daniely (ran into both of them in an airport) Norbert Leo Butz Matt Doyle (if he counts as famous?) Jason Robert Brown Sarah Rice Anthony Rapp Adam Pascal
I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting... I've had some friends who were in a lot of National Tours and Broadway shows with famous people. One of my friends was in the School of Rock growing up and I always joked I was a degree away from meeting Sarah Silverman :)
I guess "famous" is sort of a relative term, but there are many I've met and conversed with at varying degrees of conversation.

The only ones I'll ever really brag about (cause I generally think meeting famous people is not all that interesting) are President and then-Senator Clinton. And it wasn't meeting and speaking with them, so much, as it was performing a play for them. It was a tiny, 60-seat house in the West Village, and I was playing Einstein in Picasso at the Lapin Agile. I think the only two people watching the stage were the President and the Senator. Everyone else was watching them watching us.
And the best part - he was the nicest man! SO funny and inspiring and he'd spend lots of time with us during and in-between rehearsals. It was seriously cool
