I was just looking up tickets for Mormon and Once..and they both wanted me to pay top dollar $145 for Mormon on a weekday and $156 for Once on a Weekend for tickets labeled partial view...does anyone else think this is wrong?? Less than two years ago I was able to get partial views no matter how slim for the lowest price possible (or close to meaning only sold as rush or a good $25 less than the full view seats next to them)

The thing is, they'll charge as much as people are willing to pay. So, because those shows are high in demand, I think people are willing to see what they can and pay for those seats.

Wrong? If you don't want them, don't buy them. I suppose its only "wrong" if they don't tell you that they are partial view.

I wouldn't purchase partial view at full price, but it's their perogative to charge whatever they want.

My philosophy when buying tickets is if good top dollar seats are available (not premium) then I will buy those. But if the best I can find in the orchestra is something like row X or anything in the back of the orchestra (which can be a great seat in a small house), I will buy the cheaper option in the mezzanine.

At least Once is labeling them "partial view" now.

I will never forget when I went to see Seussical in its original Broadway run. I had been keeping an eye on the show's grosses for several weeks--it hadn't been doing too well. Got to the theater a few hours before curtain and it was all but sold out. Aaron Carter had been brought in to "star" as Jojo. The only ticket they had when I went to the box office was a single $100 orchestra seat. It was way more than I had planned on paying for the show, but being a fan of Ahrens & Flaherty, I sucked it up and shelled out the $100. No sooner had my money been forked over than the box office seller stamped "partial view" on my ticket.
I was a younger theatergoer at the time and didn't put up a fuss, but considering the limited view and the fact that there were 1,000 prepubescent girls screaming throughout the show for Aaron's superbly miscast performance, it wound up being one of the worst theatergoing experiences I can recall. I actually haven't seen anything at the Richard Rogers Theatre since.

I was searching BOM tickets last year randomly and I came across Right Orch, Row B, Seat 12 for $145 less than a month in advance for the Sunday matinee. It was labeled as partial view but I honestly didn't miss much so I was content paying close to full price.

I rushed Spiderman a couple days ago and got a "partial
View" box. It was fine. I would've paid full price. As far as Book of Mormon, it depends if you are a city regular and this is your only chance to see the show, I would do it. I don't think it's "bad", since no one is makin us pay the tickets but I wish they were more moderately price, or at least put in the lotto tickets.
