Need help picking shows!

Sorry, I know these type of threads are posted all of the time.

I will be in New York in July, and I am trying to pick 3-4 of the following shows:

Anything Goes
Clybourne Park
Peter and the Starcatcher
Porgy and Bess
A Streetcar Named Desire
Newsies

What do you recommend?

Tell us what shows you have loved (and hated) then we can suggest better. (and why isn't Once on your list?)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

In order:

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER
PORGY & BESS
NEWSIES
CLYBOURNE PARK
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
ANYTHING GOES
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

My Order:

1. Peter and the Starcatcher
2. Newsies
3. Clyborne Park
4. Anything Goes
5.Porgy and Bess
Haven't seen Street Car, but I haven't heard good things

**DRAMAMAMMA NOT EVERYONE HAS TO LOVE/SEE ONCE it is an acquired taste also I would not be caught dead paying $150 to see it...id rather pay $150 to see Newsies 5 times with the heavily restricted SRO...not because I love newsies but there is no way in hell I am paying that much to see a show...especially one so simple where i know the producers are pocketing $100 for each ticket I buy****

1) Anything Goes (Top of my list because I actually found it to be far better with Stephanie and her performance is worth the trip alone before it closes in August)

2) Peter and the Starcatcher

3) Clyborne Park

4) Porgy and Bess

5) Newsies

6) A Streetcar Named Desire

The shows you listed are very different. What are your personal tastes?

I didn't say everyone had to see or love anything. I simply asked WHY it wasn't on his list. His reasons would add insight as to what shows he might like.

And if your reasoning for what shows you will spend money on has to do with the bells and whistles you get, they you will miss lots of amazing theater.
