I prefer Knotts Landing... But yes, they're making the talk show circute--the old and new cast is on The Talk tomorrow as well.

Eric, although I enjoyed all of the nightime soaps of that era, Knots Landing was also my favorite. My favorite cliffhanger was Season 5. When Karen was shot, Abby kidnapped, and Valene clutching her pregnant stomach (with the viewer wondering was she losing the babies). I remember at the time, how unexpected it was...and screaming at the tv.

I know Knots was closer to David Jacobs' heart than Dallas, since he created Knots first (but then reused his premise as a Dallas spin off) and Jacobs stayed actively writing it longer (I think it's a mistake that they wouldn't take Jacobs on as a consultant, as he offered, on the new Dallas). Knots always seemed the best written of those primetime soaps and a bit more down to earth even with its brilliantly over the top soap moments--I also think it stayed consistant longer than Dallas, or certainly Dynasty. I hope now that Dallas is all on DVD, they will pick back up with Knots.
