I really wished Will Smith accepted the Django role. Not that I think Foxx will do a poor job, I think the opposite, but I think, like DiCaprio, it would have showed off a different side of Smith who still seems to want to maintain the wholesome family man image.
And I am probably the only person in my inner circle who saw this and got super-excited of seeing the '2 Djangos' when Franco Nero was shown with Jamie Foxx in the trailer.
"I think it looks like fun. I think Quentin should do a romantic comedy next." Kill Bill was probably the closest we're getting to that, unless there is a whole rom-com exploitation sub-genre that gets unearthed. This really feels like a vengeance period for QT (though it has nothing on the Park Chan-wook Vengeance Trilogy).
