couldn't find info on the SRO policies for either Newsies or Once, but I know both shows have been selling SRO when they're sold-out. anyone have any info on when they sell SRO for either Newsies or Once(or both)??
A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.
Newsies is done right after the lottery $30 cash or credit, semi/severly restricted you cant see jermey jordans head in Santa Fe. If you are on the left side of the auditorium though there is a super nice usher who tries to make sure everyone on her side has a seat.

I think they sell Standing Room for Once after the Rush seats are all given out? There are 20 seats per show for Rush anything after that if they are sold out they'll sell standing room, if I recall correctly. We got there super early for Rush and were first in line the next people didn't show up til around 4:30 and then most of rush was filled by 7, so I would say 6:30 or 7 would be a safe bet if you want Rush or SRO, but that was for a two day show, so I don't know how it would be for a one day show.

I did SRO for Once, and got there and around half past six and they still had plenty of SRO spots.

I've done SRO twice for "Newsies" once on Friday and once on Tuesday. Friday's experience was really crowded and the view was extremely restricted. Tuesday was wonderful, I'm guessing because it was a weekday the ushers were nicer.
I really wish any theaters selling SRO tix would just begin selling them once it is confirmed that they are indeed sold out. I think its plum silly to have to stand in line all day for the privlege of standing up during the show. Yes, I get that it's at a great discount...but still.
I don't 'do' SRO often, but the two times I have (BOM) it just seems silly to have to wait until 1 to physically get tickets. Why NOT when the box office opens -- they know they are sold out. (Although I realize not all productions are sold out in advance as is BOM.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Once has been on TKTs 3 times this week meaning it may be selling out, so if Once is selling out still its doing so day of show so they probably don't know if the show is sold out at 10am when Rush is sold.
I have a friend in the cast of Newsies and as most of us know the show doesn't sell out till a few hours before the curtain for most performances. So this is how their SRO works, if they have less than X number of tickets left to sell by the lottery is drawn they will sell SRO right after the lottery. The reason for this is Disney knows numbers and know the amount of tickets they can sell in the 2 hours before the curtain aka X. Its a smart and fair system especially since they don't advertise their SRO unlike other sell out shows like Mormon, so they don't have people waiting in line all day.
Does anyone know how the rush for Once has been lately? What time would I need to arrive to get a ticket? What is the SRO policy? Are the rush tickets still the box seats? Thanks so much in advance.

2 out of those 3 shows where Once was at TKTS was on July 4, just an FYI.
and it seems as though they're selling SRO after the rush tickets are sold, they're just not telling anyone they're available(unlike BOM).

I rushed on July 4th. The rush tickets I got were in the boxes. I heard they sell SRO after the rush tickets go. I'm planning to try and get some SRO tickets this Friday.
