"What's next? Snow Black and the 7 Swaggers? Shasquirta and the Beast? 101 Weavematians?
Willis in Ghettoland?" - Dave19, in reference to the new ANNIE remake.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

Can Anjelica Huston reprise her role? And maybe Kat McPhee and Megan Hilty can play Jacqueline and Marguerite.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

I'm actually pretty excited about this. I love the movie to death, and I'm looking forward to seeing a version that doesn't include Drew Barrymore's dreadful english accent.
EricMontreal22, there are definitely two sides of the Princess Bride story. It did not go away because of Mr. Goldman's "greed". I know a few people that were close to the situation and they said that Mr. Guettel and Mr. Goldman were deadlocked in a sour collaboration from the beginning. They were simply incompatible in style and work ethic. They are both very talented writers who were just miserable working together. So the project went away - I think it's unfair to just blame Mr. Goldman.

After people watching them on 'Smash', they would want Hilty to play Marguerite and McPhee to play Jacquline.

There were times where I actually found it very charming like when she said, "A servant is not a thief, Your Highness, and those who are cannot help themselves." And when she said, "And you own all the land there is and yet you take no pride in working it. Is that not also a contradiction?"
Davey, I definitely was being too glib, you're right. Guettel has been known in the past to be hard to work with. I admit, I recently read William Goldman's admittedly entertaining The Season, about a year on Broadway, and his homophobic rants about the homosexualization of Broadway, how Albee shouldn't pretend he knows anything about straight marriage, etc, have left a bad taste in my mouth for the man.
Eric, I totally understand that and I take offense to those passages as well. I certainly hope Mr. Goldman's views have "evolved" over the last 45 years.
I don't think Drew Barrymore's accent was bad at all. I think she did a good job in my opinion. I can hear her voice in my head now saying all those lovely lines like "A gypsy, for example, is rarely painted as anything else. They are defined by their status as your title defines you, yet it is not who they are. You have been born to privilege and with that comes specific obligations."
According to his blog, Tony Sheldon from Priscilla took part in a reading of this in October of last year along with Sierra, Roger Rees played the King, Beth Leavel played the stepmother, Ashley Spencer and Gwen Hollander played her daughters, Jessica Walter played the Queen. He posted many pictures from it as well. It looks quite promising
When this musical was announced yesterday, Entertainment Weekly mentioned how 'Cinderella' is becoming the new 'Snow White' in the entertainment industry. However, what they do not realize however, is that Cinderella is NOT THE MAIN character in 'Into the Woods' even though she has an important part in the show.
