It's a pleasant enough film, it was adapted from an existing non-musical stage play that starred Walter Pidgeon in the Fred MacMurray role, but I don't think their is any interest in the material for Disney to want to invest in a full blown stage adaptation.
The movie is way too long for it's subject matter and the original film was not the big box office success that Disney had hoped for after the phenomenal success of MARY POPPINS.
My high school put on the non-musical play, and I'm sure under a much better director than the one at my high school, it'd be a good show - however, to me - it was kind of dull and very dated.
