I saw Jekyll & Hydein 1997 and was very impressed at that time of the ability of Robert Cuccioli and Linda Eder. Note** will admit a little bias for Robert Cuccioli since my wife knew him in the HS days. Robert Cuccioli was nominated for Tony (Best Actor in A Musical )and Linda Eder became well known for her incredible voice. I believe neither one of them has ever appeared on Broadway since that time and was wondering what could be the reason since Jekyll and Hyde ran for several years and they received good reviews. Just find it odd since you see other actors constantly get new shows. Just curious as to people's opinions who know more about these things than myself.

Bob Cuccioli seems to be working quite a lot, just not on Broadway. I saw him a few years ago in 1776 at Papermill, and in the off-broadway production of Jacques Brel is Alive etc etc back in 2007, I think? I really enjoyed him in both. He's currently in a production of 1776 at Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC.

I wonder if perhaps Linda Eder just didn't pursue a career in theatre post-Jekyll & Hyde. I seem to recall her saying at one point that she never considered herself an actress.

Eder's concert and recording career is extremely lucrative.

Bob Cuccioli should have won the Tony that year, instead the voters decided to go for the "nothing special" performance of James Naughton. I haven't care for him ever since, especially his ridiculous direction of the Paul Newman revival of Our Town.

Linda, remember, was the wife of Frank Wildhorn. She did "The Civil War" at Houston's Alley Theatre, but didn't follow to New Haven or Broadway (I believe she was pregnant at this time).

She also starred in the musical Camille Claudel a few years ago, which was built around her abilities. As noted above, she never considered herself an "actress." She still tours and sings in concerts around the country (She just did a two-week stint at Feinstein's).

I'm pretty sure Linda's absence is by choice. She has to get tons of offers.

Kalimba - agree with you 100% about Cuccioli losing Tony to Naughton. His role was so demanding and he was incredible especially in "The Confrontation" scene in J&H.

mee.who- I did not know she did not consider herself a actress, thought she handled it pretty well in J&H.

mee.who - thought I saw he was listed as being in the cast of something that is "in the works" for Broadway. Need to check it out.

I don't have a source for that, Yankeefan, just remember reading/hearing it once somewhere years ago. I've been to several of her concerts, but never saw her in J&H.

And that would be great if Cuccioli had something aiming for Broadway in the works!

mee.who - I looked it up and it is something called "Angels", based on a Milton poem "Paradise Lost". Don't have any idea if/when it will come to Broadway but would love to see him again.
