The Raven

In Abu Dhabi at the moment and saw the new John Cusack movie The Raven ealier today. Sadly it should have been a tense thriller that kept you on the edge of your seat, while it had a couple of really good scares it could have and should have been better.

The story is based around the works of Poe, Raven, Tell Tale Hart and so on. It was what it was, an slightly enjoyable film.

How was Luke Evans? Is the rather cynical plan to have him now be a straight actor, after he was so flamboyantly out when he did West End shows, worked out and he's actually set to be a star now, or is this like hislast few "leads" and will lead nowhere?

(Yes I'm cynical--and I did meet him after I saw him in Miss Saigon 11 years back and he seemed really nice so I wish him no ill will, but...)

I was really looking forward to this movie and was hoping it would be great. Now I have low expectations.

The popcorn over here is well interesting, mashed spud popcorn, salted, cheese and one other which I can't remember!

The one thing I am happy about over here is they are finally stopping people from smoking, talking on there phones. The first time I saw a movie over here Green Lattern, the lights from phones was blinding, but my favourite was the four man who lit up cigars and yelled at the ushers when they said something!

Push, the film is ok. It just should have been more. Go see it!
