In his LOVE NEVER DIES Interview shown before the musical, he said something like "now that they're able to film shows like this I can't ever imagine not doing it". Any word on if he meant that?
I'm not certain he will. Love Never Dies can not hold the legacy that Evita or JCS has. However, time will tell. I personally think he filmed LND just so he could make an extra buck from the U.S. without mounting a whole new, multi-million dollar production. Yes, he did say he would like to bring LND to broadway but who knows if that will happen. Composers say stuff all the time that never materializes. Who knows, it could happen but not this close to opening. I think he would film Phantom in London or NY before they finally close before JCS or Evita -- I think the full, true show needs to be filmed. The Hollywood film, The 25th Anniv. Concert or even a filmed Vegas performance simply will not be as good. Just my $.02
The 2000 revial of jesus christ superstar was filmed in the still the same way cats and josheph was the actor that plays jesus in the 2010 revial is the film.

Jordan - concerning the contract, I defer to people that know/understand his contract. While he may hold some option over appearing in a video/filmed recording, I can't imagine him being required to nor him working for what would be a low-budget film. Are there any numbers back from the LND theatrical/dvd release?
Not sure what he is paid, it is probably a pittance to what he is capable of earning in a film but on scale with a Radcliff/McIntyre.
Whether they will be filmed I don't know. But I don't think that cost would be much of a factor. It's ALW. He's got the money and if he wants it, it shall be done.
I mean, what market is there for Love Never Dies? I can't believe that profit from potential sales could justify the undertaking in a cost benefit analysis.
Having said that I'm inclined to guess that Evita would be more likely to be filmed because there isn't one already available (not counting the movie) and Ricky's name would definitely help it sell.
Either way, I'm always delighted to have any show for posterity, so here's hoping.
I wouldn't mind, as mentioned, a filmed performance--even an edited one like Love Never Dies. I find those weird "filmed on a soundstage" versions he's done in the past just sorta creep me out for some reason--they feel lifeless.
the 2001 revial of jcs was filmed in the way cats and joesph was filmed. all three aired on pbs back in 2000 and you can buy them online or in stores. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0275434/
You're right, the little involvement he has with this production probably indicates he himself will overstep the producers and will produce a film version.
