Viewpoints in shows?

Does anyone have any examples when Viewpoints has been applied to the production of a show?

In my University's production of Cabaret, our choreographer specializes in viewpointing and so it appears in Wilkomen.

Depends on if you mean Mary Overlie's--the creator--or Anne Bogart's version.

Look up Anne Bogart's work as a director, she's currently working at Columbia University.

You can also look into Anne and Mary's work at NYU's Experimental Theatre Wing.

If I'm not mistaken, Anne Bogart's version is more commonly used, so you may want to start there.

The story of Mary and Anne's falling out is also quite interesting, but that's another thread for another time.

I've taken workshops in viewpoints.. it's not really my thing, but am glad I was able to work on it hands on to experience it.

If you want to know more about it I recommend Anne Bogart and Tina Landau's The Viewpoints Book.

Yes, Wishing Only Wounds, Anne's is more widely known.

Theresa McCarthy once told me that Tina Landau used some elements of Viewpoints in creating the staging for Floyd Collins; she went on to say that she (Theresa, I mean) remembered using some of those Viewpoints techniques to help create/distinguish between the multiple characters she played in Titanic on Broadway.

Landau uses Viewpoints for all her shows, even BELLS ARE RINGING.

It was rather blatantly used in her productions of IPHEGENIA 2.0 at the Signature and THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE at Steppenwolf.
