Mitt Romney Asked to Host SNL

"Lorne Michaels, the show's executive producer, has offered a guest spot to Romney, who is considering it."

If I were advising Romeny, I'm not sure this would be a good idea. Hosting it? Maybe making a cameo like Hillary and Obama and Palin and McCain did but Host?

I'm sure he'll do a guest spot since most presidential candidates do, but I see hosting the whole show as as a real catch 22. It could show him to have an actual personality but the skits they'll do making fun of him (which of course they'll have to do) will only highlight his problems more. I don't see that ending up as a particularly good thing for him.

I don't think Mitt could do comedy. He is too stiff and I just don't think he has it in him. Let's face it, he is not really that charming. A skit, I can see him doing.

I wish they would ask Marcus Bachman to host. He'll steal every scene!

Some politicians were actually rather charming on SNL. Al Gore, for example.

But Mitt Romney?

Does he even have a discernible personality?

It won't be until the Fall of course and even Obama will probably make a guest appearence as he, Hillary, McCain and Palin did. Oh remember how Palin afterwards claimed they were gunning for her?
You KNOW McCain already knew lost he when he hosted and did the Going Rogue Home Shopping Network Show with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin!

Kad, Bob Dole did a great job when he was on and was actually a really nice guy! As was Forbes.

Just dig up the YouTube clip of Mitt improvising "Who Let The Dogs Out? (Arf arf arfarfarf)" when he imposed a photo op on a group of young black kids four years ago. It shows you his looseness and comfort and ability to roll with things very clearly!

When John McCain hosted SNL he was HILARIOUS! So was AL Gore. I think you are right. McCain knew he lost when he did this skit.

He should do a skit about all of his campaign 'promises'...

"In a lighter moment Romney admitted to watching — even setting his DVR to record -- Jason Sudeikis' impersonation of him on "Saturday Night Live." Romney said he'd consider appearing on the show, but it would "depend on the nature of the skit."

"I just want it to be funny," he said."

Look not to Gore or McCain as a portent to how a Romney-hosted SNL would transpire. Rather, watch, if you dare, the hosting job done by Steve Forbes in the mid 90s.

God, this would be such a horrible decision for his campaign.

I really hope he does it.

It would certainly defeat the purpose of Karl Rove's millions beings pent to mock Obama for being "cool" if Willard decides to appear on SNL.

Joe, he will, out of desperation trying toget the younger vote. If McCain, Bob Dole, Steven Forbes et al would do it, be sure Mittens will!

I wonder if his sketch will admit defeat before the election like McCain's did?
