After seeing Nice Work last night I was disappointed in the lack of full dance numbers in the show. I expected a Gershwin musical to be chock full of many high energy dance numbers. As it turns out there are only a few in the show. None of which are remarkable. I guess I was expecting the sort of dance numbers that were in Crazy for You and My One And Only. On a positive note the book was screwball funny and decent for this type of show. The performances were all wonderful. Matthew and Kelly were both fabulous in their roles and had amazing chemistry together. Judy Kaye was a stand out performance and quite effective in her comic timing. It was great to see Estelle Parsons do her thing as 'Mother'. Eventhough she was only on stage toward the end of the show. I can not say a bad thing about any of the performers. The problem for me is the lack of dance and not even one tap number in the whole show.
I liked the dancing in the show (Matthew & Kelly's dance especially) but agree that a tap number would have made the show even better. Fascinating Rythym would have been the logical choice. Maybe Marshall is tapped out from Anything Goes.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.
