I couldn't find a thead on this. Sorry if there is one already. Anyone tried the rush? I'm thinking of trying tue but won't be there until the afternoon like 2ish. Have they been selling out in the morning?

I went Saturday night and got to the box office at about 6:30 (pm) and they still had plenty left. And even if they are sold out, rear mezz is only $10 more expensive and the view is perfectly fine (and the mezz in general was only about half-full if that Saturday night).

I bought a rush last night around 6:15. They gave me row J seat 4 way up at the top, but I easily went down to Row A of the rear mezz during intermission.

So getting there 10 minutes before 10 probably isn't a problem then?

Got in line today at about 9. Everyone was turned away and told to come back around 1PM to check for matinee rush or 3PM if you were interested in the evening. Checked at around 5 and there were no tickets.

Side note: The Best Man was apparently following the same policy but ended up having tickets when I checked in at 1PM.

So did people wait until 1 or did everyone leave and come back? I'm thinking about rushing but this seems weird to tell people to come back at 1pm. The rush tix are not available when the box office opens?

Apparently not. It was very strange and I've never encountered a show with this policy before. The Best Man doing the same only made it more odd.

I'd say the majority of people all left the theater when we were told, probably to get tickets for another show. After getting Best Man tix I checked back at the Imperial and they didn't have tickets, which is when they told me to return at 3 to check for the night show.

I didn't have that exact experience, although I rushed last Wednesday. Most of the people there clearly were not students and were arguing with me when i told them it wasn't a general rush. When I got to the box office finally I was told they were not selling student rush for the matinee and probably won't. Huge let down.

The people I've dealt with at the box office lately are really rude. I went twice to try to get tickets and had extremely unpleasant experiences both times. I don't understand these strange policy situations though...

So maybe I won't rush Saturday. I really want to see it now that the reviews are out but not sure I want to pay full price yet.

Went yesterday at 10:30am and had no trouble grabbing two tickets for the night show. Seats were rear mezz side section. The house was completely packed, didn't see an empty seat anywhere (except front boxes)

I got there yesterday at like 9:30ish and there were about five or six people ahead of me. When they opened the box office, they announced they were only giving out rush seats for the evening show, not the matinee. Not sure if the matinee was sold out, but that was what we were told. A few annoyed people left but I got fantastic rear mezzanine seats (Section One, Row D on the aisle) for last night's show. Flaws and all, I thought it was adorable. It's a bubbly, endearing, and well-performed show. I liked it a hell of a lot better than the ridiculously overrated NEWSIES.

I'm apparently cursed with this show. Today I got in line at around 9:45, (3 people ahead of me) and reached the window to find they were only selling rush tickets for the evening show. The woman suggested I come back at 12PM because there was a "very good chance" of me getting tickets...at 12...instead of when the box office opened. Very frustrating policy.

Yep, the woman at the box office stressed it to me a grand total of three times in case I didn't hear her the first time.

Is there a clear rush policy for Nice Work? If you want evening rush tickets, are they sold at noon? Or is this some whim of the box office ticket seller?

Is the policy also for one ticket per student ID? I see some people saying they scored seats in the plural...My husband can go during weekdays, but I go to work long before the box office opens. This is one of the few shoes with a one ticket policy unless that has been changed.

I had a similarly strange experience. Yesterday I arrived when the box office opened to ask about rush tickets for the matinee. The woman said they were offering rush for the evening show, but to check back at noon for the matinee. Since I was already seeing THE BEST MAN in the evening, I asked again at noon and was told they had nothing available.

It all worked out quite nicely, however, when I walked over to VENUS IN FUR and got a front row rush seat less than two hours before curtain.

Most non-lottery student and/or general rush offers specify "subject to availability".

Typically, only the lottery shows guarantee a certain number of seats at the rush price.

My guess is that with the show selling well in recent weeks ($1M+ last week), the decision to sell rush is made more last-minute based on how that performance's sales have progressed during the day. That would explain why some people have been told "check back later" and when they do, they discover that the show is no longer (or isn't at all) making rush seats available for that particular performance.

I've had this happen to me on a few other shows in the past and this was the explanation I received, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's the case here as well. Would just be helpful if the box office staff could articulate that to the customers instead of being so mysterious or seemingly haphazard.
