A wonderfully talented character actress, the original Irene Malloy in Hello, Dolly! Jack's acting teacher Zandra from Will and Grace. And such movies as The Sting, The Last Picture Show, The Cheap Detective, and Private Benjamin.
For musical theatre folks here, she's also in the TV/PBS version of the musical "Working." She does the Millworker monologue while Jennifer Warnes sings the (hauntingly beautiful) song.
"Jaws is the Citizen Kane of movies."

I've heard talks of a clue remake- which i hope NEVER happens. you just can't come close to doing the movie justice. But if one ever was made i could totally see Debra Monk playing Mrs. Peacock as she looks alot like Eileen- only heavier.
Here's a backstage picture of her from a performance of WHERE'S CHARLEY? in Milwaukee, Wisconsin circa 1968. In the playbill for this production, she was billed as "Eileen 'Sock It To Me' Brennan" from her time on TV's "Laugh-In."
How could anyone forget to mention THE LAST PICTURE SHOW? EDIT: My dumb ass needs to read the thread more thoroughly. The original OP did mention it. Sorry. I loved her in that film.

"Little Mary Sunshine" anyone? Got to know her a bit when she did "110 in the Shade" at the MUNY ages ago. Incredibly sweet and BUT funny, and wonderful in that production. If it hadn't been for that terrible car accident years ago I bet she'd still be working all the time.
