Ramirez knocks the song out of the ballpark and into the stratosphere. I'd love to see what she could do with "Rainbow High" and the rest of the score.
I was actually there. She sounded incredible live. No, that is not my video. Yeah, she needs a starring role on Broadway as soon as Grey's Anatomy is done or if she leaves before that.
No idea. Shonda Rhimes said something about it not, but I guess it is up to ABC for it to get renewed, at this point. That's what I've been reading anyway.
Since I'm on a Spelling Bee kick today... Chimerical- Unreal, magic, visionary, wildly fanciful, highly unrealistic: Sara Ramirez is Elena Rogers' matinee alternate.
That remark had no bearing on her acting abilities. I am well aware of her talent as an actress, but again she is the wrong type physically for the role of Eva Peron in EVITA. Just because she can sing it does not mean she is appropriate for the role.
I'm sure back in the day Julie Andrews could sing the entire score of WEST SIDE STORY without batting an eyelash but that doesn't mean she was appropriate for the role of "Maria" in any production of the piece.
^ I totally get what you are saying. As much as I love Sara, which is a lot, I know there are roles she would not be good for, just like any other actor. I don't know Evita really well, so I wasn't aware that she wouldn't be perfect. Don't tell her though because I read in different articles and have heard her say that it would be a dream role for her.
Elena was great when I saw the production in London. Definitely different from what most pre-conceived notions should be, but she definitely proved to be a star and brilliant in this production.
