I couldn't find the old one. Anyone been following the show lately? The Fatal Attraction-esque storyline is kind of fun. It's nice that they're actually giving Robyn something to do.
Because producer Jill Farren Phelp hates Laura and Genie Francis, and her last returns were hge both jobs--like most character returns on this mess of a soap have been the past few years. I had hope with the new writer, but now it does just seems they genuinely are treading water till their inevitable cancelation this Fall.
Really Stockard? Don't get me wrong, I like Storms a lot, but this new Maxie has grown on me and I think she's doing a good job. I feel bad for anyone who has to do scenes with Spinelli though, although I must admit ever since he's come back from being Jackal P.I. I've been able to tolerate him more.
I love Kelly Sullivan as the new Kate. I'd seen on her stage a few times and when she came on the show I was like, "I know her from somewhere." I think she has great chemistry with Sonny and has been able to neutralize him a bit.
The infamous soap producer (some would say destroyer) Jill Farren Phelps is out, after nearly ten years reign. It was no secret her contract was up, and that she's pretty much the most expensiuve in the biz, so in the current soap climate, particularly on ABC, it's no surprise she's out. And not much of a surprise that One Life's Frank Valentini (who was meant to be in charge of the Prospect Park AMC/OLTL online thing till it was canceled) has replaced her as he's close with ABC head Brian Frons, and has been known to bring One Life in under contract.
I'd say this is good news (though it does make me think OLTL wreiter Ron Carlivati will join GH which might be a weird fit), except it seems to support the current belief that GH won't last out 2012 and they're just trying to do the remaining year as cheaply as possible.
I silently screamed because I thought it was the oldskool Robbo and Rath GH thread! I was back on the GH bandwagon a few years ago but stopped after a while. So Genie is back? Is she out of her catatonic state for good? Is Luke still with Tracy?
Genie is on the Young and the Restless. Luke and Tracey are divorced. Anthony Zacarra blackmailed her into marrying him. Anna is back on temporarily and I heard Robert and Holly are both coming back.
Thanks for the update, Stockard. I LOVED Robert and Holly together. I liked Anna with Duke. GH was so great before Sonny, Jason and Carly screwed it up.
GH has been a mess for so long, but I'm thrilled to see Anna again and hope she's on longer than just to exit Robin. I admit I know her best from when they brought the character over to All my Children (after they totally flopped with her character Alex on the show--Fional Hughes has a lot of charisma but is not one of those soap actors who can pull off twins). All the other returns from the 80s sound good too--and I admit I'll like seeing the One Life characters on to wrap up their story (it sounds like only one will stay on). So I hope now that the One Life producing/writing team are at GH I have some hope for vast changes (I know ROn Carlivati's work as writer still hasn't officially premiere though he's been tweaking scripts). Maybe we'll get a good final months till its inevitable cancelation for Katie Couric's talk show this Fall.
Genie Francis has been treated so ridiculously bad at GH the last few times. It's no secret that the Exec Producer of the past ten years, Jill Pharren Felps, who is infamous for her feuds with actors but particularly with actresses HATED her and purposefully tried to have her character exit in a humliating fashion (I guess she's still in the looney bin). Maybe with her character on Young and Restless not going over well with fans, and Jill out as producer, she might return--I find Luke lately unbearable without her, though he was fun with Tracy for a while.
