I'm not sure where I read/heard it but Bob wanted to create a Pop-up book for the land parts of story. I'm not sure why the stark juxtaposition with the more "real" undersea look, but I dig the cardboard ocean.

For those of you who loathe the "cone-do," you'll notice during She's in Love, the mer-sisters switch things up with more Ronette-style beehives. Nice nod to Little Shop and they switch it up with sequin dresses.

If you can't tell I'm a huge fan of Mr. Crowley's design choices.

I'm a huge fan of Crowley's designs, but this is not his best work.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the photo of Triton and the sisters was Sea Monkeys.

i'm a huge fan of Bob Crowley's as well. I like most of the ideas here, but not the implementation.

I kind of understand where he wanted to go but it's just all bad. Nothing is cohesive.

I don't know how I feel about the doo-wop mersisters, and I still detest that cone hair. I do, however, like the concepts for the "land" scenes with he pop-up books and I like Ursula's tentacle people. They remind me of the urchins in the movie. I also like the "Under The Sea" a lot more without the plexiglass flying dildos.

I think the tentacle people could have worked if that's what they wanted but they kind of just look like dementors.

I maybe biased but I think the Philippine version (circa 2000/01) is way better that this disney prod

Yvonne Coldeweijer (better known as her stage name Keet!) will join the Dutch cast as the new(?) Ariel. (I don't speak Dutch hence the question mark).

She is no stranger to theatre having closed out the Dutch production of "Wicked" as Glinda.
