More bad news for the show. For the first time in eight years, it was not the most watched prime-time show of the television. It lost to NBC Sunday Night Football.
M Ward is a kind of indie folk guy. He sounds to me like a soulful guy from the 1930's trapped in a white 30-something's body.
He has also recorded with other bands like Bright Eyes (and more, but I can't think of them at the moment) and performs with Zoey Deschanal in a project called "She and Him".
Phillip's father revealed that the Idol winner endured 8 separate surgical prcedures on his kidneys during the season, and that we will have reconstructive surgery on his kidneys in the immediate future. Phillip
This article made an excellent point about what the show's demographic is now:
"You have this alliance between young girls and grandmas and they see it, not necessarily as a contest to create a pop star competing on the contemporary radio, but as…who’s the nicest guy in a popularity contest,” he says, “And that has led to this dynasty of four, and possibly now five, consecutive, affable, very nice, good-looking white boys."
I've haven't watched the past few seasons...which coincides with my daughter going to one of the cattle call auditions. Seeing how the whole thing works really changed my perspective.
Plus the whole thing's getting tedious. Whether he was being serious or flippant, Kris Allen isn;t too far off the mark when he said last week that the show's run its course.
