Wow this thread is long! So I don't know if anyone remembers me posting that I work for a non-profit organization and that Howard McGillin helped get tickets donated to our auction but I thought I would add this. When I wrote to thank him for his help, he actually wrote back! He sent me a very sweet note on Phantom stationary and talked briefly about the organization I work for and told me he was going to extend (this is back in August/Sept before his contract ended). So after the auction I wrote back to him to thank him again and to tell him how much the tickets had brought in. Also told him that my father was the one who won the tickets so I would be seeing the show soon. Not only did he write back AGAIN but he invited me back to see him after the show. Sadly when I went (he did not know when I was going and his letter arrived the day I was set to see the show so I had no way of telling him) he was out. His understudy was very good but I was disappointed not to see him. Sent him a letter back . . . will have to see if he responds yet again. So send him mail . . . he will get back to you! And quickly too!

He's got the cutest dog.

Yes he does! When I saw the show the first time I went backstage to meet Mr. McGillin (which is how I met him and why I wrote to him--he and my father have a good mutual friend) his dog was there running back and forth between dressing rooms. Teddy, right? Kind of looked like a cross between a poodle and some sort of hound. Very cute.

I got a signed picture from Beth Leavel!

She didn't personally the actual photo (of her as the chaperone), but she wrote a little thing with my name on the cardboard I put in the envelope to keep the picture from bending.

YaY!

Just recieved my 'My Fair Lady' Poster back in the mail signed by Amy Nuttall whom played Elisa in the Shows recent National Tour back in August. Very sweet of her in deed.

Does anyone know how long it takes Kendra Kassebaum, Megan Hilty, Shoshana Bean, Kate Reinders, Megan McGinnis & Jenn Gambatesse to reply?

Took Gamby a little while to respond back to me after I sent her a thank-you note for an enjoyable performance in Tarzan. Very sweet of her to write back.

I haven't updated in awhile on who I heard back from so I thought I'd do it now.. I think this is most of them.

Danny Burstein
Georgia Engel
Troy Britton Johnson
Beth Leavel
Aaron Lazar
Adam Jacobs
Barret Foa (He also sent my note back and had written something after every few sentences. It was cool.)
Lenny Wolpe
Jennifer Smith

Offtopic but I also heard back from the cast of NBC'S "The Office" I was thrilled :)

I'm not sure if it's changed now that Shoshana's in Toronto (difficulty getting stuff out w/Canadian stamps or something), but when I wrote to her when she was on the tour stop in Seattle, she responded with a personalized photo within two weeks.

I wrote a letter to Howard McGillin (The Phantom of the Opera) about a month ago, & I'm hoping he'll write back when he has the time. Just a letter would be cool, an autograph would be awesome! And I hope to see him as Erik again this summer in NYC. I've also got a small collection of autographed Playbills from stage door signings.

Okay here we go. I'm only 12, so I have some kid actors mixed in.

Idina, Jessica peters (broadway kid) Ellen Marlow, Brynn Williams, Janelle Viscomi, Jaclyn Neidenthal, Struan Erlenborn, Malcolm morano, Emma Wahl, Lurie Poston, Henry Hodges, Antonio D'Amato, Tolan Aman, Michael Herwitzlibbie jacobson (The Chitty Kids). 2 from Christiana Anbri and they threw in her sister's headshot, too. Sutton Foster, Shoshana, Eden Espinosa, Megan Hilty, Jesse L Martin, Jacob levine (gavroche in Les Miz revival) Ashley Brown from when she was in Beauty and the Beast, Harvey Fierstein

=)

And I recently sent one to Celia Keenan Bolger because she told me she'd write back when I met her at the stagedoor at LEs Miz.

Starstruck - I personally would think it is more rude to send a SASE and then not ask for what you want. I usually write a letter and at the end I just write "I know you're really busy with *insert show name* but if you could please send me a signed headshot it would mean a lot to me blah blah.." Something along those lines. If you just write to someone without a SASE you may get something back but chances are you won't. Once I wrote to Patti LuPone not expecting anything and in the mail I received a thank you note and signed picture. It all depends on the person.

And in regards to Mimilovesroger she did get a response. I said it took about 4 months.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure about how to ask, but I guess it wouldn't be so rude.
Thanks again.

an87, thanks. I sent a letter to her management in New York about 3 weeks before she did started the Tour. So hopefully, I'll get something back after she leaves. I sent a letter to Megan Hilty at the Seattle Stop a few days before she was there and had nothing.

We might have discussed thi on here already,

But what do you find in the best way to start your letter to a performer? Like, Dear first name last name...or Dear Mr./Ms. last name,...or what?
