I think that this one has a little more substance than most coffee table books, but it's the companion book to PBS' Broadway: The American Musical. It's an interesting read with tons of great pictures.

WickedBoy2, I linked tinyurl.com for The White Half-Mask, but really, for anybody else who can't figure out that pasting a long Amazon URL in a thread and stretching out the page is truly irritating.

Go to the website and it'll explain it.

Are you sick of posting URLs in emails only to have it break when sent causing the recipient to have to cut and paste it back together? Then you've come to the right place. By entering in a URL in the text field below, we will create a tiny URL that will not break in email postings and never expires.

The Lord of the Rings just came out with one.

Billy Elliot had one.

Chess and Evita had books but they are unlike the current coffee table books you mentioned. They had more history and information than photos.

A Chorus Line had one towards the end of its run.

There is also a "companion" book - soft cover - for the film of PHANTOM. Color photos, background and the shooting script.

They're not show-specific, but also highly-recommended:

THE PLAYBILL YEARBOOK (2004-2005; 2005-2006; 2006-2007)
AT THIS THEATRE
PAPER MILL PLAYHOUSE: The Life of a Theatre
BROADWAY: THE AMERICAN MUSICAL

As mentioned above EVITA had one, but it was probably around 1977 before Elaine Paige was cast. There are no photos of the stage show, just the lyrics and other information set to pictures of Eva Peron, her family, Peron, and some scenes from Argentina.

It did, however have a HUGE misprint from the U.S. (yellow cover) version. It said Lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Composed by Tim Rice!

I have:
EVITA
Phantom of the Opera
Les Miserables
Miss Saigon
The Musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber
Phantom of the Opera: Movie Companion
Wicked: The Grimmerie

And at one point had T.S. Eliot's version of Cats out there that had production photos where each of the different cat's peom was.

I am a coffee table book freak.

I actually won the Tommy coffee table book in a raffle at my old theatre camp. It was so cool.

We Will Rock You has a coffee table book. I bought it while I was in London (didn't see the show though.)

I've got Phantom and Wicked. I love them both, and really enjoyed reading through them. Some of you think they're little more than eye candy which is fine. However, I think they're fantastic! Too bad the entire script isn't included in Wicked, like it is in Phantom.

Looks like The Book of Mormon is finally getting a coffee table book.

The Les Miz film is also getting a companion book

I recently discovered two new coffee table books that focus on Broadway musicals in general instead of just a specific show. There's one called BROADWAY MUSICALS by Ben Brantley, and it's a collection of theatre reviews from the early 1900s to today. There's also one on the history of Actor's Equity, but I don't remember the title.

Also, I think Phantom of the Opera released a new 25th anniversary coffee table book, and (as the above poster said), a Book of Mormon coffee table book will be released in early December.
