Artman, you mean in the alleyway there?

Jordan, not in the allyway. When I was stage dooring for Ben Stiller, I watched what ended up being his car leave (48th street) without him. I had a hunch his car was going behind the theatre. I walked through the allyway between 48th and 49. I turned to my left and within seconds, Ben Stiller, was on the sidewalk. (very friendly and posed for a picture) He did not come from the allyway, but from the back of the theatre. The car was already parked there waiting for him. Where he came out of is almost an diaganal to the Chicago stage door. I know this because the crowd was waiting for Christie Brinkley. I hope this helps.

I did the stage door for The Heiress at the matinee on Jan 6th. Both Stevens and Chastian came out after about 30 minutes and took thier time signing, talking and posing for pictures with everyone. I some some people hand over 5 or 6 items and they both signed them all. Jessica and Dan both stayed and talked with the few stragglers that wanted to chat after everyone else got their Playbills signed and left. The were both very polite and friendly, it was wonderful and refreshing. It was very cold and windy but the both stayed our for at least 45 minutes. None of the other cast came out the main door.

THe line is short (few barricades) so it is deep but if you wait they will likely move and the stars will still be there signing.

Does anyone know if Stevens and Chastain come out after a matinee?

Anyone have luck with David Strathairn or Judith Ivey?

Thanks!

A friend of mine and his girlfriend went and saw the show and not only raved about the show but Jessica as well. She somehow dropped her Playbill on the street and of course it got walked over before she could pick it up. She asked Jessica for an autograph who asked where her Playbill was, she told her she dropped it but she had a receipt from dinner to sign, Jessica sent someone inside to get another Playbill and she signed it. Very genuine and humble performer.

I honestly think Chastain is the next Meryl Streep. She is destined for greatness. her range is remarkable. I think The Heiress was my favorite show. If you look at The Help, Mama, Zero Dark Thirty, and Jolene (of her earlier films) she immerses herself in the role. The last few minutes of The Heiress were haunting.

Dan Stevens is very nice and has definitely lost a fair amount of weight-he must be eyeing entering the US market. I always thought he was handsome but doughy on Downton Abbey. He was stunning in person with very chiseled features. He is going to be a big star.

As for Jessica, I am still in awe at how down to earth she is. I mean she has the two top movies in the country, just won a Golden Globe and has two Oscar nods. She spent time talking to me, showed me how to take the best photos on my iphone (she literally took my phone and gave me a demo), hugged me, kissed me on the cheek and recommended vegan restaurants. She has a devoted fan forever. I will travel to a dinner theatre in Kansas to see her. What a class act.

That's an awesome encounter! I hope mine is just as good. 2 friends and I are planning on stage dooring on Wed. after the matinee. We are all huge fans and hope we can get a few minutes to speak with her and get a picture.

Just a heads up, I'm not sure what the running time is, or where the show tapes but Ms.Chastain is going to be on "Watch What Happens Live" this week. Just figured I'd give you all a heads up in case you attempt to stage door, I assume she'll have to skip for the night or rush through it.

I was at The Heiress Saturday night and there were about a hundred people at the stagedoor and both Dan Stevens and Jessica Chastain were really nice. Stevens is more reserved but Chastain was really bubbly. She made sure everyone's playbill was signed and whoever wanted a pic got one. What a lovely lady.

Also, she mentioned that she won't be doing the stagedoor after the last show on Feb. 9 because she has to make a quick getaway to catch her flight to London for the BAFTA's. She did say that she would come out after the matinee so if we knew anyone who was planning to come for the last show, tell them to show up after the matinee instead.

Lincoln Center has her at 3:00 pm tomorrow for a Q&A conversation. I assume it is mostly for Zero Dark Thirty but it probably covers the bases that includes The Heiress.
