Yes I'd say 12th row is better than the 4th definitely. However, the third row of the front mezzanine wouldn't be bad for this show either. I sat there in the center section and it was perfect.

I was there last night and LOVED it. As for better seats I was in 12 row left orchestra seat 17(the one furthest left). I would not have liked being closer. There is a blind spot on the way left, when they are in the apartment, there is an exit that can't be seen. Row 12 Aisle seat would be perfect.

Oh and the rap number was in last night, so I guess they are keeping in and D'Vine was great. And the entire audience was awed by the stunning effects. If those effects don't win a Tony I will be shocked.

I think this is a real touristy type of show and will be a hit this summer.

QUESTIION: When it played in London was the locale New York or was it London.

@Pammylicious---When it played in London the show was set in New York as well.

I have been looking at the ticketmaster sales for GHOST for these coming weeks and they are selling about 50-60% of the seats in the house. Compared to hits like NEWSIES and EVITA it looks like the show is barely selling any tickets. It makes me wonder how long GHOST will last especially if it gets slayed by the critics on opening night.

What would be the earliest Ghost might close? If it doesn't get any Tony nominations is there a chance it could close before Memoral Day?

@Ky Last night was a pretty full house. Only seats open were the first few rows extreme left seats because of the blind spot. Couldn't see the mezz, so I can't comment on that. A lot more than 50-60% full, more like 90%.

Don't think there was an empty seat in the mezzanine last night!

Huh...maybe there are a lot more same-day ticket sales? I wish the show the best though and hope it continues to do well. I really enjoyed it when I saw the show.

Ticketmaster isn't really the best indication of how a show is doing. I reckon Ghost will run until at least September, it is not doing that badly.

So the bad news is it doesn't look like the Addams Family chorus, the subway rap, or the awful projections of the dancers behind the actual dancers are going anywhere. The GOOD news is that "Life Turns On A Dime" has been replaced by a much less offensive (still unlisted in the Playbill) song that can best be described as kind of a "Here Right Now" reprise sung by Carl. Not the best song I've ever heard, but such a vast improvement from what was easily one of the worst songs in the show.

They also changed the way that that scene segues into the subway rap scene and I really liked it.

I don't think the rap would be that terrible if they cut the chorus of him screaming "I didn't do it." Just cut that whole back story with that ghost. He's angry, that's all we need to know.

Also, is it just me, or does the sound get exponentially louder after "Focus"? I never have a problem with loudness in theatre, but it was to the point where I wanted to plug my ears.

Also, just to add in to the ticket discussion. The orchestra looked mostly sold-out yesterday afternoon (not sure about the mezzanine), and I overheard a man outside saying that he was able to buy center orchestra tickets using the discount code at the box office that morning. So it looks like they're selling the seats that were originally designated as premium for a discounted price day of.

Oh...now I am interested in hearing this new song that Carl gets to sing. Glad to hear that they've given something better for Bryce Pinkham to work with. He's great in the show with the little that he gets to do.

But is the context of that scene still the same? As in, him spilling the coffee on his shirt, singing to Molly and trying to kiss her, etc.?

Also, has there been a "Unchained Melody Reprise" added right before where "Life Turns On A Dime" use to be now? And if so, how is that staged/fits into the story?

Haven't they also replaced "I Can't Breath" with a new song? Does anyone know the title?

I'm glad to see that they replaced "Life Turns on a Dime." That song was way worse than the rap in my opinion. I think it's kind of silly that they released the London cast recording in the US without "Ball of Wax" when two other songs are now gone too. What was the point?
That's right! Underscore mother-fu@#ers!

kyl, Carl's scene had all of those parts. He sang something, but I don't remember it being a full song.

Personally, I thought the Carl Bruner character had a bigger role than the character of Oda Mae Brown. The show is firmly centered around Sam, Molly, and Carl from beginning to end.

@CATSNYrevival---When did you see the show? When I saw it "I Can't Breathe" was still in it.

And I agree. At this rate, they might as well release a Broadway Cast Recording given all the new songs they are implementing into the show.

And @theminutepast---I agree. Oda Mae Brown is simply in there for comic relief and big show-stopping numbers. Every scene she is in they have these big gospel, flashy, ensemble numbers.

spoilers

After sam is in the apartment, and escapes through the door, he goes straight to the subway to follow whatshisname and then to Oda Mae. I don't remember I can't breaht..

The opening scene after the projections over the city/ overture was "Sam look at this place.." and singing Here Right Now with the projections of photos and various memories. Afterward, it was into the apartment as they were moving in, discussing he decor. Then he fools around on the guitar and they do it, leading to the sex montage, which I actually thought worked nicely... to MORE.

@LegallyBroadway2---Is Carl still in the opening scene as well as the drapes come down on the apartment??

And how did they implement the "Unchained Melody Reprise" at the top of Act II after "Rain/Hold On"?

Seeing this next Tuesday night. I cannot wait :)
Anyone know how the ensemble is doing with the dance problem? As in being in time with the projections?

Yep, Carl is just the third wheel. . joking around- tries to get Sam to sell the place... they'd make more money that way. And he pokes fun of it's Brooklyn setting.

Sam and Carl fade into the background as Molly begins Here Right Now.

Then Sam joins her.

Its just those two until the apartment rolls in.

The opening location is the room with a bunch of windows.

Thanks for the detailed information by the way. :)

She is at her pottery wheel, the radio is playing, she turns it away from the station that is playing the tune, but quickly returns to it, and to her pottery studio, and sam sits behind her, and sings in her ear, touches her, ect.

its interrupted by Carl at the door.

The "Unchained Melody Reprise" has replaced "I Can't Breathe". It's in the same point in the show and in the same context, just a different song. Carl's new song is also in the same context and the scene plays out exactly the same as it always has (with the spilled coffee and the shirt, etc) just with the new song replacing "Life Turns On A Dime". When Sam leaves the apartment after that scene to go look for the subway ghost he now runs through a subway car full of people to find him and they meet in the subway car with the subway ghost throwing Sam out on to the platform where the subway ghost rap scene resumes as it always has.

Ah, looks like they have returned to the way they did it in London. When Sam leaves to go find the subway Ghost they had him run through a subway car and the ghost throwing Sam out onto the platform as well. I'm glad they brought that back into the show cause the subway special effect is easily one of the best in the show.

And it's a shame that they cut "I Can't Breathe" while the song is nothing special in terms of its melody, it did showcase Richard Fleeshman's vocals in my opinion.
