Rob Kasinsky, whp played Fili has dropped out of the film for personal reasons, but this will not effect filming since there are shooting scenes with Bilbo without the dwarfs.

Titles and dates officially announced.

The first film, titled The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, will be released on December 14, 2012. The second film, titled The Hobbit: There and Back Again, is slated for release the following year, on December 13, 2013.

Two more cast members have been confirmed. Luke Evans has been cast as Bard the Bowman and Benedict Cumberbatch will provide the voice of the villain Smaug.
