Matt, now I'm curious. I'm always glad to see people call LaBute out on his ****.

That proposal was awful--with poor Goldie, who seems more and more like she was lobotomized--grinning away in the background, half dressed. Her character has become (quickly) an utter fail to me--she can't stand up to her mother, she loves everyone and knows love is love, but seemed to yesterday tell her daughter, via that flashback, that you can't help agreeing to get marriedto utter losers and you just have to go with it, and, yes, as Whizzer said, the pretend wedding storyline was simply the dumbest thing I've seen on a sitcom in a long time, which is saying a lot. Is this something Ryan Murphy imagines himself throwing for his own future kids?

You're kind, Eric. I was going to use the word 'retarded', but I hate myself when I use the word 'retarded' even though I think it fits in this case.

I grew up with a cousin with downs syndrom (thankfully he has no desire to act, otherwise I'm sure Ryan Murphy would write a part for him...), so was always sensitive as a kid not to use that word. But I get what you mean--the actress seems to have resigned herself that the only way to play the role is to kinda have a blank-spaced out expression and deliver her lines. I don;'t blame her.

It's so odd. She seemed to have a spark and some life to her in the first episode. But now she's just some sort of nondescript vessel (quite literally) on this show.

Now she has to sit like a planter in the background of the proposal scene.

If only Faye Dunaway entered in her Crawford drag and said, 'Helga, you have to move the pots!'

It would make as much sense as anything else on this show.

Exactly. The whole empetus for the show seemed to be her finally wanting to make something of her life, and taking off, wanting to persue law school, etc... Ummm?

I still think she's going to need to consider college (and possibly getting her GED?) before law school.

Ya know! In the olden days, you didn't go have to go to law school You could just apprentice with an attorney! Maybe this show is set in the olden days...but it's the big surprise twist!

Lol, it'd be like a reverse "The Village". Which would be great, cuz I hear everyone loved that movie.

Well after reading some of these posts it seems that I am not missing anything on this show. I really enjoyed Andrew Rannells as Bob Gaudio in the 1st National tour of 'Jersey Boys' and I think Justin Bartha is great in the 'National Treasure' films, so I was wondering whether or not I should give this show a chance. Now I am thinking that I probably should not. Also, I am not a big fan of Ryan Murphy's because 'Glee' got too over-the-top and raunchy and also had poor script writing. I watched 'Modern Family' tonight and I still love it, so I do no think judging from the previews of this show and what has been discussed on here that I need to watch another comedy.

Please, there are a lot of great comedies on TV right now that you do not need to drop one for another. But this is not one of those shows.

Sigh. I'll never be able to quit this now. Here's hoping his character has a brother he can creepily sing a break-up song with!

I remember Gotye initially walking back his comments of Glee doing the song on a technical standpoint but then he said he liked how the show's version of the song was in the context of two guys. Not sure if he knew the context was brothers and not lovers.

where the hell were Wilbur's parents?! Why weren't they at the pretend wedding? Did they even know it was going on? Kinda creepy if they didn't.

Killers! Murderers! You liars! All of you liars! You're only happy when you can see something die! Why don't you kill yourselves to be happy! You and your God's country! Freedom! I pity you! You are three dear, sweet, dead men! Butchers! Murderers!

Well, I TRIED to watch last weeks episode and couldn't turn it off fast enough.

I can't take how stupid and nasty everyone is.

I wish NBC had the cast of The New Normal hosting the debate!

"The Godparent Trap" - Bryan starts thinking about the traditions of his Roman Catholic upbringing and seeks advice from a priest at local church; David and Bryan want their friends Victoria and Tiffany to be their baby's godparents.

How crazy that they are going to look back to Catholic traditions for their child, but be so very modern by trying to have a lady godfather!

Ellen Barkin wasn't on at all tonight, and I think that greatly aided in my enjoyment of the episode.
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!
