It was just so stuffy in my area at work. When I first got in, it was fine. Then around 9ish, I mentioned to my cellmate that it was starting to feel stuffy, and she agreed that it was almost like they turned off the blowers. I put the fan on high and there it stayed all day. I know compared to some of the conditions people work under, this was not a big deal. I was just feeling all icky and dreaming of my cool car and house. And a nice, cold adult beverage.
Morning. Happy Friday indeed. Now if only this day would go by very quickly. I have the gym and then a large pile of beef waiting for me (sadly not a euphemism, I'm going to a beefsteak dinner *sigh*)
Wow, Tink - for a momenet there I was really excited for you. I mean dinner is nice and all, but...
Storms are supposed to come through this evening and will bring in a cool front, so this should be our last tropical day. What's the Jersey forecast for Sunday?
I turned off the AC and opened the windows this morning. Rain should be here any time now in these parts and then supposed to cool off. I left a fan on for the kitties.
It's the start of my four day weekend! Taking the car in for service, since I'm doing a lot of driving the next couple days. Plus it's a couple hundred miles overdue. I usually let it go a little bit more than this, but... I took Monday off since I really won't be around all weekend, I thought I owed myself a "free" day.
And come hell or high water, I need to find a birthday present for my SIL today. Her birthday is next Sunday, and I'll still have to get it in the mail to her. So difficult to buy for.
My A/C won't be getting turned off until I walk out the door tomorrow morning. Not unless it goes down to 50!
Just for future reference, when you have been staying with friends in another country for 10 days and they have been feeding you every meal you have not eaten in a restaurant, when, on the last day, the person who does the cooking says something like, "Do you want some toast or something before we head out?", it is never okay to respond with, "I would really like some biscuits and gravy. Can you make that?"
There is a very fuzzy line between someone you adore in relatively small doses and someone who just might drive you up the feckin' wall when they are with you non-stop.
Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
We survived 10 days of family/friends crashing with us. Man, it was their vacation and we spent more money than we had. It's tough having people visit you for their vacation!
Morning peeps! It was wonderful seeing some of you yesterday, Sorry I couldn;t stay for the entire memorial service. Priscilla rocked the Palace last night. Too have to close on Pride was unbelievable. The girls were out in all their glory. Wigs, flip flop dresses, you name it they wore it! I felt sorry for the old ladies sitting in front of me from Wisconsin. They had no idea what they were in for. The screams went on forever. Most of the times the actors had to wait a good 5 minutes for applauds and scream to simmer down to continue. It had to send them off on some high. It took me an hour to finally bid my friend a farewell. I also got to meet a lovely guy who sat next to me. Poor HC played with his phone while me and my newbie chatted away, I did get to see T.T during intermission and send him off with a big hug. He didn't want to stay after the show because he said he shed enough tears. Poor guy. It was tough for me to let him go too.
Good morning, kids. I'm just spent. A huge storm just rolled in here -- black as pitch outside and the lightening/thunder is frightening. I do not want to be here today.
I feel spent, too, Somms. I crawled into bed last night and just wanted to pull the covers over my head and stay there. As special as yesterday was, it also makes us face the reality: Iflit will never join us for pancakes again. And that pretty much crushes my heart.
But, it was so wonderful to see all of you. I'm sorry I wasn't able to join for lunch first. Let's make a plan soon, please!
The weather is the city is getting darkier and rainier. It would be a good day to be home in bed
Here's to life. All the ups and downs of it...
(Glad to hear the last show was so special, Boobs!)
Deets, I am sorry about Max. Poor little dude. We found an excellent drop-in doggie daycare in Gothenburg which has been a Godsend. We can drop our bug off for the day and she plays until she is exhausted. She's always thrilled to see us, but she's happy to be dropped of there, too. I am sure there is something similar in your area and it probably doesn't keep Swedish hours. lol
Max took the shirt I was wearing yesterday out of the laundry bag and is all curled up in it, sound asleep. I don't have the heart to move him, he seems so comfortable and happy.
