Who are some actors who haven't done a show in at least a couple years or more that you'd like to see do something on Broadway again?
I think Karen Black should do something again on Broadway. She did some shows early in her career. I think she'd be a good Miss Hannigan.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
kelli fournier if they ever dig her from the aida tomb (where has she been!?)
and i second mandi and julia murney!
"Beating AIDS and extreme, stupid poverty, this is our moon shot. This is our civil rights struggle, our anti-apartheid movement. This is what the history books will remember our generation for--or blame us for, if we fail."-Bono
Meryl Streep Morgan Freeman Judi Dench Maggie Smith Anthony Hopkins Kathy Bates Mark Ruffalo Ian McKellan Michael Gambon Zoe Caldwell Julie Harris (if she can) Lily Tomlin
FYI -- Dianne Wiest is on stage right now at Lincoln Center in Wendy Wasserstein's THIRD (and was in another play earlier this year). Judith Ivey was at The Public last fall in a one woman show about Martha Mitchell called "Dirty Tricks."

Donna Murphy of course, she needsto originate a great role. Bernadette Peters, who wouldn't love to see her back on the stage? She should replace LuPone when she decides to leave Sweeney (not to imply she should leave anytime soon) Mandy Patinkin. And Lea Salonga!
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
MMM yeah get donna back asap. Revive Passion and have her reprise her role 11 years later. Id pay top dollar for that, that is just a force of nature onstage
Wow. I've, like, completely overlooked third. I vaguely remember "Dirty Tricks," but I missed it. I don't keep up with off-Broadway happenings as well as I should, which is a shame.
I absolutetly loved Ivey's Martha in Virginia Woolf, but I've not yet gotten the chance to see Wiest.
cady huffman lea salonga patti cohenour (i know she's in piazza, but i want her to star in something)
i wish julie andrews would return to the stage! i know about everything with her voice, but i'd love to see this outstanding woman perform live in anything.
Too bad Bernadette does not replace anybody. It's sad you would even mention her taking over a role.

I think Bernardette could probably replace Patti...of course she wouldn't be as good...anyhow...Ray you are asking "who wouldn't love to see her back on Broadway?" and i answer "me" i can't stand her voice. Anyhow these are the people i would like to see back on Broadway: -Brooke Shields -Vanessa Williams -Tamyra Gray -Joan Collins -Jennifer Hope Wills -Melissa Errico -Toni Braxton -Mandy Patinkin -Liza Minnelli -Julie Andrews -Bette Midler -Sarah Brightman -Mario Cantone -Jessica Lange -Glenn Close

Awww, poor Bernadette muscle23, but hey everyone has their own opinions. I agree with you about Brooke Shields-not replacing anyone-and Liza. To the person that said Bernadette could not replace anyone, I don't see why not, she is a two time Tony-Award winning actress, I know, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't replace someone. Mrs. Lovett is a great role and I'm sure she wouldn't feel insulted if she was asked to play one of the most well-written Sondheim women on Broadway, being a replacement in a great hit show composed by one of her favorite composers would not be diminishing for someone as humble and talented as Bernadette Peters. I wonder if she was ever approached to play this role on the revival or if she's ever showed any interest.

I think she would be wonderful in the role I would just like to give her a chance to win a Tony for the role. Patti is wonderful in the role as well, I just do not like Patti. I like to be able to understand what is being sang.

yeah...Bernardette would actually be a good replacement for Patti...that charachter doesn't need a great singer...and she kinda has the look...i can totally picture Bernardette making human pies...she would be replacing Patti Lupone...one of the biggest stars of the theatre. So im sure she would take the role if offered to her.

Hey, she could win that new ambiguous Tony for Best Replacement. I'm glad Patti LuPone returned to Broadway actually, I've realized she is sooo humble and great to her fans, that just makes me think so much of a performer.

Ok muscle, you want to star in Odd Couple with me? haha Anyways I respect Lupone because she is a theatre legend, but Bernadette is just as much if more of a legend.
