So there are two G:YTOTIW alums in this production?

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
Why a huge announcment for Derek and nary a mention of Kevin? He was my favorite on that show. Not for Danny, just for generals. Why no love for Kevin Greene????
I was wondering the same thing myself. I wasn't even sure if it was the same Kevin.

I just left Kevin a congratulatory comment on myspace. I'm so excited that he's getting this chance as well. He has a great voice but often came across as "stiff". I often playfully referred to him as "Frankenstein's Monster". It's one of the reasons he didn't go further in the competition. He didn't have the "looseness" needed to a Danny Zuko type character. But this is a great opportunity for him - no matter how small the role.

Natalie Toro has been touring with Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway. I saw her at a couple of concerts just recently. What a great voice! She's a lovely person to converse with, too.
Anyone feel like starting a pledge drive to send me to Sarasota to see this? *w*

Glad James Barbour's still attached despite his...troubles. He really is a great talent. They did a good job of finding a Darnay that really looks like him too.
"Wooohoo! Joe Cassidy! He's a lovely person with a lovely voice. CONGRATS JOE!Z'
Amen! Does anyone know how big a part he has?
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
Ernest Defarge is a supporting role. He has two songs where he sings either most or all of the song. (Up in the Garret, Until Tomorrow). He also has large solos in several other songs. (The Way It Ought To Be, Little One) He is more important in the first act, but it seems he has less power in the second because there is a reversal of power between him and his wife. Nothing you wouldn't know from the book if you have read it.
My avatar is a reminder to myself. I need lots of reminders...

Has any one heard anything about how Saturday night's audience took to the show? I know the "official" reviewers won't see the show until the last couple previews but I was just curious on how things went over.
Son_of_a_gun, it seems your searching skills may be superior to mine and I thought maybe you might have found something.
