I've only seen a high school production.

I'd like to get out to see this one, but not sure I can yet.

I had the pleasure of seeing Hello Dolly as a sneak preview last night at their dress rehearsal. It was fantastic! I cannot say enough about the casting, the direction and the staging. As it often does, the Paper Mill shows, that it is a regional theatre of Broadway caliber.

Tovah Feldshuh, as Dolly is such a tiny little woman that you wonder where that big beautiful voice comes from. Similarly, Kate Baldwin resonates sweetly as Mrs. Molly. I loved the booming sound of Walter Charles who played Horace Valdergelder as well. The antics of Jonathan Rayson as Cornelius Hackl, Brian Sears as Barnaby Tucker and Jessica-Snow Wilson as Minnie Fay were all enjoyable. All acted and danced with poise and beauty.

Likewise, the dancing of everyone in the ensemble was also phenomenal and added to the show.

There was plenty of laughter throughout the evening and I suggest it's a show for everyone to see.

Physical size has never had anything to do with vocal sound.

true... but sometimes you have to admit that when people look at certain people... you just don't expect a certain voice to come out... my theater teacher (as well as my friends) was surprised that my voice was not... i guess... proportionate to my physical look... i'm a big guy... not fat in anyway... just big... and my voice sounds very soft and soothing....

Don't miss this one! I was given a pair of tickets at the last minuet and put all things on hold. ( thank you C. in case you are reading this and I know that's likely) It was well worth re-arranging an evening to see such a top notch production.

I wish the Papermill were closer to me, and I am hoping BWW's Michael Dale or Tess will get over there to cover this!

Tovah gave a truly impressive performance. As was mentioned the casting was solid. The dancing and energy were felt throughout the crowd. Hello Dolly is indeed one of my favorite shows. This one's a winner.

I think someone from Broadwayworld covers opening nights...at least they did with Ragtime.

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...
