Just came home from Broadway at Bryant Park.

Even while missing Nancy Opel, Toxic Avenger was AMAZING today. That is how you sell a show.

The Little Mermaid - This was interesting because we saw the original cast - so now that they are all replacements, I was curious how this would be. They did 3 songs - "Her Voice" "She's In Love" and "Part of Your World"...I have to say that the new Prince Eric is weak and the new version of that song is even worse. He sings it like he's in a boy band. "She's in Love" was cute as it is in the show...but I was most curious to hear Chelsea Morgan Stock who took over as Ariel when Sierra Boggess left the show a few weeks ago. She was excellent!!! I'm not sure she was exactly as talented as Sierra, but a very powerful voice and she was about as close as you could've gotten for Ariel. Nice job!

9 to 5 - They did 2 songs "I Just Might" and "Shine Like the Sun"...Stephanie J Block was amazing, but I'm not too sure about the other two leads. Overall, while I did enjoy the two songs, I think this show might be a little too much "girl power" for my liking....seems like a girls night out type of show and I'm starting to think I'm not gonna see this one.

The Toxic Avenger - Saw this Off Broadway show when it opened and really enjoyed it. It even won the award for best Off Broadway show this year. This was EASILY the best 3 song set of the day. They did "Who Will Save New Jersey" "All Men Are Freaks" and "Brand New Day" with David Bryan joining them onstage (original member and keyboardist of Bon Jovi)....great performance and judging from the people I saw all around me, this will sell some tickets for sure.

Pure Country - No. No. No. No. And no. Jenn and I saw them perform one song at Broadway on Broadway last year. This is a preview of them opening up in the spring of 2010. This will be a massive failure on Broadway if it even opens. Based on the movie of the same name, it looks like a country concert up there and I'm still confused why they are investing money in this. And they should not have been put last because half the crowd got up and left during their set (including me). I actually felt bad for the actors so many people were leaving!!!!

Why can't people accept that Pure Country is coming to Broadway.

I stayed for Little Mermaid and 9 to 5, I left after that. I watched the Sound Check and I wasn't feeling The Toxic Avenger. Very awful day at Bryant Park.

Is Lauren Kennedy still involved with Pure Country? I know she is doing Vanities, so I wasn't sure.

Also, what is taking so long for them to open? They performed last year at Bryant Park.

Did Brian sing She's In Love or Major? Also, the demo of Drew singing Her Voice is actually performed nightly? Ew.

Lauren wasn't performing today so I'm assuming she's not still attached.

And Brian D'Addario was performing "She's In Love"

"Is Lauren Kennedy still involved with Pure Country? I know she is doing Vanities, so I wasn't sure. "

Kennedy is strongly rumored to be doing Frank Wildhorn's new/est: "Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure" this upcoming November-February (Tampa & Houston). Sounds like they will try to transfer to Broadway, but no plans are set yet.

Lots of other actresses have apparently been auditioning for Pure Country though!

Who was the performer in "Pure Country" who was reading the lyrics from a book? Is that part of the show or couldn't she recall the words? I felt embarrassed for her. Yes, many folks left during this performance. The stifling heat and oppressive humidity didn't help, either.
