I'm happy to hear this show is finally receiving its US premiere! The London production was one of the most pleasant surprises I've witnessed in the West End. I'm curious to know what changes have been made.Zorro in Utah and possible US Tour

Nice. I want to see this so I really hope that tour goes forward as planned. The London cast recording is mostly Flamenco flavored dance music and not a lot of actual sung songs, but it's still a fun listen.

I think I might actually enjoy this show. I hope the tour and Broadway plans pan out.

Most of the London recording is sung. It's a live recording, so there isn't much editing of the score in the way of the dance breaks and incidental scene music during a number, but most of the numbers are songs. Zorro to the Rescue is a fun action sequence and Entrada is a cante jondo, but the rest of the recording features a lot of singing. Visually, the show comes together very well and the original cast sold it so well. Their dedication and love for the show was evident in every moment on stage. The best ensemble work I've seen in London.

^I just meant that a lot of it is dance numbers like "Baila Me" and "Bamboleo." I would have liked a few more ballad type songs like "Hope" and "A Love We'll Never Live."

Well, there is also Falling (my favorite ballad in the show) and The Man Behind the Mask. I think the recording probably sounds like there is a lot of dance since a lot of dance music is usually cut in cast recordings, but when you see the show, there is a wonderful balance of music, dance, humor, action and story. Watch the London promo in the link to get a sense of the show. I was thrilled when Lesli Margherita won the Olivier for her performance. Well-deserved.
Oh, and I forgot Libertad which is also a cante with traditional flamenco choreography.

I saw it in London and it was the most polished piece of crap I've probably ever seen on the professional stage. I had a good time, mostly.

I saw it on tour in the UK prior to the West End and thought it was OK, then watched it in London after it was scaled down to fit in the Garrick theatre and did not like it that much.

I saw it last night in Utah. I loved it!!!
The local theater company was very lucky to be able to produce it. I have to admit the talent level was not on the same level as Broadway, but I thought it was well done and was extremely impressed.
There was some great lines in the show, along with great music (Gipsy Kings). I felt that the story line was very well done and it never seems be dull.
Not sure why this hasn't made it to Broadway and/or a tour company, but it is only a matter of time.
The show ends on April 11, and I have purchased tickets to see it again on 4/4.

Will this show bring in a large Latino audience? I don't have a problem with that, but I worry this board won't survive another thread on the subject.

Was this a success in London? I know it largely seemed to get good reviews, but then it seemed to disappear (did it even run a year?)

Didn't they run into financial problems when they couldn't afford to renew all the visas for the flamenco performers who were brought in from Spain?

It started off strong with good reviews and broke box office records at the Garrick, however it did then trail off.
I loved it, I saw the tour then the London version and London was so much better, slicker and just delivered a fun night out. The CD is one of my favourites to play.

I saw it in London. The show is a lot of fun, although the lyrics are rather atrocious. But man, those dance numbers.
