I hate posting new topics but I did a search and well, you know how search on here goes.
What's the spiderman Rush like?
Where are the seats?
I didn't pay it much attention at first because I assumed it was a student rush, but now that I see it is a general rush (I can't do student rush) I'm rather interested in them.
BUT
I'd like to know where the seats are because if the $30 tickets are at the back of the orchestra, I think then I would prefer to get the $69. box office ones at the back of the balcony instead.
Has anyone on here done the rush yet?Spiderman Rush, what's it like?

When I did rush I was first in line and my seat was in the balcony box. My friend got a seat in the balcony and she was the last in line. My other friend got the side toward the back of the orchestra.
So, it varies. I'm pretty sure the sides of orchestra are the most common.

Rush is insane- get there early (by 8 am). Tickets, as said above, are all over. Most people get rear, side orchestra. I got side balcony, which was partial view.

The rush is really insane.
A lot of people show up and there isn't a set number of tickets that they give out at each performance.
The first day i went was on a fiday and they literally sold 8 rush seats.
I went the next morning and (granted it was a two show day) i was the 17th person in line and got tickets.
It seems they are really just selling any unsold seats that they can't justify selling at premium prices.
The night before the first time i tried i had looked at telecharge and saw that there were 73 unsold seats to the theatre.
When they ran out of rush the next morning, i asked what tickets they had left (cause i had a discount code) and the lady in the box office said at that they only had premium tickets left. But if i came back later in the day some of those might be eligible for the discount code.
They are really trying to charge top dollar for every seat they can.

I went last friday and got side orchestra row S, it had a perfectly fine view. I got there at 7 and was second in line (the person in front of me got front row of the flying circle) but there were only about five of us total in line until around 8:30.

seriously!, lol, I hate getting up that early when I'm working much less when on vacation.
I just browsed ticketmaster for the weeek I'm there and almost all the $69 seats are gone so thanks everyone for the helpful comments, I really appreciate them (and lack of unhelpful bitchy comments). But I will just go and book before hand. thanks again.

FWIW, I just picked up a rush ticket for today's performance - I got there around 9:30 and was first on line. I'd say about 50 people showed up, the stack didn't look like they'd all walk away happy people. I got balcony row B, seat 30. Anyone know how the view is from there?

I sat in that seat the first time I saw the show, it's a great view.

Waited this morning with a group of people for them to turn away more than half the group. As soon as they turned us away, they proceeded to sell a group of foreigner full-priced seats for this afternoon. Despicable.

It seems to be really hit or miss. I showed up right at 10 o'clock on a Wednesday just to see if there was any shot at getting a ticket. There were a good 25-40 people in front of me, and I still got a pair of tickets.

Trash, how is that despicable? Do you know how many rush seats they sold before you were turned away? Maybe they reached their limit and wanted to sell what they had left at full price.

Yeah, Spider-man or not, how is selling tickets at full price "despicable"?
Rush doesn't even exist for some shows. It's pretty lame to get mad at a show for trying to sell as many non-discounted tix as possible. I don't understand where this sense that they owe you something comes from.

Do you mean the half of the group that got rush seats then sold those to other people for full price? Because it's pretty insane for you to think that there is anything wrong with the box office selling tickets at *gasp* the face value of the tickets!

So I tried the rush line this morning and they had a ton of tickets to sell. I was 28th in line (though I was 18th when I first showed up. 10 people *appeared* out of nowhere right before noon. Seriously, I wish that for early morning rushes such as this, it was limited to one ticket per person. That way no one would be able to get away with letting their friends cut in line 2 minutes before the box office opens.) and I got a ticket. It looked like they had maybe 10 more in the stack after mine.
ETA: At first I was a bit pissed that my seat was Z-29, which according to the seating chart online is the very last row, on the very end, a view that I would have never paid for had I known. However, once I got inside the theatre I realized that the layout of the Mezz is such that I actually had a pretty good view of much of the action. (I've been in other theatres where the back of the Orchestra is like a cave, and you can't even see the top of the proscenium.) Plus I was able to change my seat to an awesome one in row H during intermission, woohoo!

I have never rushed. How much are rush tickets for this show and what time do they go on sale? Do they sell to anyone in line or is this a student rush? Just not sure I want to pay full price or the discount price.

To uncageg,
Rush tickets are $30 and it's a general rush. They go on-sale whenever the box office opens, which i believe is 10 every day and then Sunday it's at noon.
I rushed yesterday, got there at 8:30 and was fourth in line. Our tickets were in the front row flying circle, then we got upgraded to front row orch randomly! The lady was from the show and said it was something they've been doing, but I have no idea how/why. I'm not complaining though!

Thanks dancing. I usually buy ahead of time but since I am moving up that way and am probably going to have some time to hang out, thought I would try.

I was there on Sunday, too. I was third in line. Got there around 8:15. Got ZZ of orchestra, which was the very last row, but moved up to H at intermission.
Cape, did you move to H of orchestra on Sunday? If so, I was next to you for the second act.

Was Reeve in on Sunday or was it MJT? I'm just wondering because the alternation schedule is unclear.

Haha, small theatre going world. And seriously. The second act was more uncomfortable the this time around, when I wasn't paralyzed with shock. *shudders* And I've had that shoes song in my head since.

The rush seats are the singles and occasional pair on the extreme sides of the orchestra, flying circle, and balcony - typically the last seat at the end of the row. (If you've gotten a much better rush ticket, I'd like to hear about it.)
If "a group of foreigners" were able to buy full-priced seats together, then those locations were never earmarked for rush in the first place.

Reeve was on on Sunday.
The only reason our tickets were better on Sunday was because someone upgraded them as soon as we sat down. I have no idea what that was about.

I passed by the Foxwoods this morning at about 8:50 and there were at least 30 people in line.
I have no idea how many tickets they had to give out, of course, but it seems like there's definitely still interest in rush.

I'ved tried two different Saturdays, once getting there at 10 and once getting there at 9:30, no luck either time. Both times there were 50+ people in front of me.

It's cash only
the line forms before the box office opens so like any other rush you would need to wait outside till they open rain or shine

I went Thurs Jan 19, got there around 5:00pm and got the last three seats (yes, 3--i was shocked he gave it to me but i guess it was easier than selling one solo ticket at that hour). Got ZZ in the left orchestra. Not sure if that helps...

How was the view from your rush seat - did you see a lot of the flying?

We missed whenever he landed in the flying circle as well as the balcony, which happens a few times during the show. I've seen the show before and was disappointed with missing those moments. It also looked like we got a glimpse of Spiderman, then he was gone, then back again, because of him flying higher. it was annoying IMO but my two friends I brought didn't mind. I'd personally recommend getting a side orch ticket rather than rear orch for this show any day, but for the most part you just miss whenever he flies up to the upper levels.

Any thoughts re: likelihood of getting four tickets together -- there will be two of us buying tickets so we would be buying two each.
