What did our critic think? Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 is not your typical musical. It is an immersive, emotional, raucous ride that I was thrilled to have witnessed. It is not, to say the least, your typical musical. In fact, it is an electro pop opera featuring a mix of rock, pop, soul, electronic dance music and classic Broadway.

After nearly two years, the Overture Center welcomes back Broadway touring shows. There’s no better show to usher in the new season than FIDDLER ON THE ROOF with its theme of tradition, and it was a roaring success.

On the same day that Broadway went dark due to coronavirus concerns, the show went on for WICKED in Madison, Wisconsin. As the curtain rose, and before I was totally swept up in the experience of WICKED, I took a moment to wonder how it felt for the cast and crew to be performing when their Broadway relations were on a sudden hiatus, and how long would they continue their run? It turns out, not long. It was their final performance for the foreseeable future.

The long wait is over as Hamilton settles into Madison. You've heard the buzz for years and wondered what the fuss was about. This is your chance to see Hamilton, so don't throw away your shot! But are those high ticket prices worth it, and can you even get a ticket? The answer is yes!

You know the iconic song, you recognize the ridiculously charismatic characters, and when you watched the cartoon with your kids, you likely never expected it come to life as a smash-hit Broadway musical. Neither did Lorenzo Pugliese, who adored the show as a child, and now plays the title character in this family friendly, wild romp through Bikini Bottom.

ANASTASIA rolls into town this week with Tari Kelly, an East High School alum, who began her career here in Madison on the well-worn stages of community theatre.

Capital City Theatre (CCT), regional theatre in Madison, Wisconsin, has a reputation for bringing in talented, nationally recognized equity actors for its leads and Hunchback is no different with five of its cast members hailing from New York. CTM's Children's Theatre of Madison delights with the regional premiere of TUCK EVERLASTING, the time-honored children's novel by Natalie Babbitt. Having attended the world premier of TUCK EVERLASTING at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, before the show moved to Broadway in 2016, CTM had a lot to live up to­­--they did not disappoint.
