After a three-year absence, Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway returns to the 47th Street Theatre with a brand new edition, Forbidden Broadway: ALIVE AND KICKING. A Christmas Story, The Musical! will arrive on Broadway at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre just in time for the 2012 holiday season. The producers have announced that the new musical, based on the 1983 movie perennial, will play a November 5 - December 30 holiday engagement. Opening night is Monday, November 19. In honor of its 50th anniversary return to Broadway this fall there was be a special Box Office Opening Celebration at the Booth Theatre. Tickets for all preview performances were available for a special price of $50. The first 25 participants in line when the box office opens received a signed copy of the script by three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee.
