Those who closely follow Broadway Grosses have been keeping an eye on GODSPELL's numbers as of late and wondering what the future held for the musical, which was recently announced for a performance on Sunday night's Tonys.
Lead producer Ken Davenport has shed some light on the show's health in a new blog entry noting that after a slew of recent promotions ranging from 'Pay Your Age' to the 'Cast of 2032' and a Fan Appreciation Day:

Speculation is running rampant in California with an announcement expected shortly for the casting of the Hollywood Bowl's summer musical - THE PRODUCERS. Earlier this week, BWW reported that Richard Kind revealed on Kevin Pollak's Chat Show that he was on board for the project. Now, our LA sources are buzzing that Broadway veteran Jesse Tyler Ferguson might play 'Leo Bloom' after recently tweeting: 'I wanna be a producer'. No official casting announcement has been made.

According to an Equity casting notice posted today, it seems the Roundabout Theatre Company will be presenting a revival of Cyrano de Bergerac at the American Airlines Theatre this fall. Previews are listed as begining Sepember 14, 2012 in anticipation of a limited run ending December 9, 2012. Rehearsals will begin August 14, 2012.

Rumours that The Public Theatre's production of INTO THE WOODS will transfer to Broadway have been fueled once more by The New York Post, which reports that extentions to Donna Murphy, Amy Adams and the rest of the cast's contracts are being negotiated.

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that Lincoln Center Theater 'wants the Beaumont for its next big production - a revival of THE KING AND I starring Kelli O'Hara.' BroadwayWorld.com first reported back in 2011 that the theatre was considering a Bartlett Sher helmed revival of the classic show. O'Hara is currently starring opposite Matthew Broderick in NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT.

Comedian, talk show host, producer and star Rosie O'Donnell has made no secret of her desire to play 'Miss Hannigan' in the upcoming Broadway revival of ANNIE. Now, an insider has told the Huffington Post that she will indeed be returning to Broadway in the revival. The source told HP: 'Ro loves Broadway and is super excited about playing the part. The paperwork hasn't been signed yet but the negotiations are well under way. This is a great role that she will be able to sink her teeth into and will get her back to acting and performing live, which has always been her first love."

At the end of January, the producers of REBECCA, the new musical based on the classic novel by Daphne Du Maurier novel (later turned into an Oscar-winning film by Alfred Hitchcock) announced that the production would be postponed until next season. The Village Voice's Michael Musto is reporting that the show might be making its Broadway debut sooner than expected. Musto writes: 'They have started rehearsing again and they plan to take over the Broadhurst Theatre when A Streetcar Named Desire exits.'

On January 6, Michael Riedel reported in the New York Post that LEAP OF FAITH, which had been planning for a Fall 2012 debut on Broadway was hoping to move to the Spring of 2012 instead.
Today, Patrick Healy of The New York Times has confirmed that hope, via a newsletter from producer Daryl Roth, in which she notes that there should be news 'shortly' and that 'hopefully' the show will open in the Spring.

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that the hit open-air production of INTO THE WOODS that played London's Regent's Park Theatre in 2011 is now planning for a transfer to Central Part's Delacorte Theater as part of the Public Theater's Summer 2012 programming. Casting is said to be underway already for the role of 'The Witch' and that the producers are seeking a big name. Nothing officially has been announced on a possible transfer, as The Public is expecting to announce the 2012 summer season at the Delacorte sometime next month. The Public Theatre had no comment by press time.
