Peter Evans directs an exquisitely intimate new production of the greatest love story ever told, Romeo and Juliet, starring Jacob Warner (Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Rose Riley (Hamlet, Richard 3).
After a chance meeting, an intense but forbidden love is ignited between two young lovers, Romeo and Juliet. And despite the unending, violent feud between their families, they will risk everything to be together.
The highly anticipated collaboration between The Australian Ballet and the Houston Ballet will see a brand-new production of Sylvia make its debut to Australian audiences at Arts Centre Melbourne from 31 August to 10 September, and at Sydney Opera House from 8 to 23 November 2019.
Melbourne Theatre Company's most ambitious production to date, Shakespeare in Love, will have its Australian premiere on Friday 19 July at Arts Centre Melbourne, Playhouse, before going on to play at Canberra Theatre Centre from 22-31 August.
I grew up listening to West Side Story, studying its iconic choreography and performing these numbers myself in community theatre shows as young musical enthusiast. It was a dream to finally see this show performed in a professional capacity by an Australian cast and let me tell you, it was well worth the wait.
