Tribal Theatre Group opens its third and most ambitious play yet: boom by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, directed by Chris Schulz, January 12-22nd 2017.

Tribal Theatre Group is an Atlanta-based company focused on creating community through creating art. boom marks the opening of Tribal Theatre Groups 2017-2018 season. Past productions have included Red Light Winter by Adam Rapp and The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter.

boom by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb is an intimate comedy that spans millions of years. A personal ad for "sex to change the course of the world" means exactly that: the future of humanity depends on nerdy biologist Jules and passionate journalism student Jo. A stocked underground bunker, hundreds of diapers, and an aquarium are all these last two survivors have to keep the species alive in this comedy about evolutionary biology, the human will to survive, and four tropical fish. boom will leave audiences asking: "What does it take to survive the apocalypse?" "How much power do my actions actually hold?" "Are there forces beyond our control?" and "Who is that woman over there pulling levers and playing the timpani?"

Peter Sinn Nachtrieb is a San Francisco-based playwright whose other works include The Totalitarians, BOB, T.I.C. (Trenchcoat In Common), Hunter Gatherers, and the immersive A House Tour of the Infamous Porter Family Mansion with Tour Guide Weston Ludlow Londonderry. His work has been seen off-Broadway and across the country including at Ars Nova, SPF, Woolly Mammoth, Seattle Repertory, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Southern Rep, and San Diego Rep. Peter holds degrees in Theater and Biology from Brown University and an MFA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University. Peter is a member of New Dramatists and is the Playwright in Residence at Z Space in San Francisco.

Tribal Theatre Group's production of boom marks the directing debut of Atlanta's own Chris Schulz and features New Origins Theatre founder Daniel Carter Brown, Shakespeare Tavern company member Kirstin Calvert, and Catalyst Arts Atlanta founding member Elin Rose Hill.

Performances of boom will take place at The Downtown Players Club , 98 Broad Street SW Atlanta, GA 30303. General tickets are $15 if bought in advance, $18 at the door and can be purchased online at www.tribaltheatregroup.com.
