Ars Nova presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a FREE reading of: WHIFFMAN ON THE MOUND by Josh Koenigsberg, directed by Hal Brooks. The cast includes Will Rogers, Danielle Skraastad, and additional actors to be announced.

WHIFFMAN ON THE MOUND

On the day his restaurant is foreclosed on and his toilet explodes, Walt "Whiffman" Rigaletti – a broke, foul-mouthed, former big league closer – discovers that the MVP slugger who hit a World Series-winning home run off him has admitted to using steroids. A darkly comedic sports drama about cheaters, heroes, and the inches that separate them.

Josh Koenigsberg's plays have been produced/developed at Atlantic Theater Company, Naked Angels, The Old Vic, The Public, Williamstown, and others. His plays include Al's Business CardsDance LessonsHerman Kline's Midlife Crisis, and the upcoming The Mnemonist of Dutchess County. A member of Ars Nova Play Group, Josh also writes for "Naked Radio" a monthly podcast produced by Naked Angels.

Hal Brooks is the Artistic Director of the Cape Cod Theatre Project and the Associate Artistic Director of the Ojai Playwrights Conference. He directed the Obie Award Winning No Child… by Nilaja Sun and Will Eno's Pulitzer Finalist Thom Pain (based on nothing). His work has seen at regional theaters throughout the country.  Recent: Alena Smith's The Bad Guys, Mike Lee's Bike America (Juilliard) and Figaro (Pearl Theatre).
