Young Performers for Young Patients, with funding from The Off Eighth Collective, is presenting a cabaret entitled My Story to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center.

The cabaret features six up-and-coming New York performers, singing songs from musical theatre to contemporary favorites while sharing their adventures in the big apple. Young Performers for Young Patients is a new program to the New York City area.

Andrew J. Overcash began the program in Peoria, Illinois with their production of The Last Five Years, which raised $7,250 last February for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The program is designed to give young artists the opportunity to perform the music they have grown to love and share their stories in front of the theatre community, industry professionals and supporters.

All proceeds from the event are going to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude's is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility where discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude's is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do science quickly. They've built America's second-largest health-care charity to guarantee the science never stops.

All patients accepted for treatment at St. Judes are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay. My Story, will feature Katie Iacona (How Alfo Learned to Love Women and Persephone: a musicalallegory), Rebecca Kopec (Hollywood! Hollywood! and Ampersand: Romeo & Juliet), Katherine Wright (The Lost Boys and Greco-America), Neil Dingow (The Lost Boys), Brian Maxsween (Pinkalicious and The Lost Boys), and Andrew J. Overcash (The Lost Boys and The Last Five Years). The production will also include a silent auction featuring donated tickets from Million Dollar Quartet, Memphis and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

My Story will be on December 22 nd at 8:00 p.m. To purchase tickets or for more information visit www.manhattanmovement.com or call 646-385-8493
