The Women's Theatre Project Climaxes the 2006 Season with Southeastern Premiere Tongue of a Bird by Ellen McLaughlin
The Women's Theatre Project wraps up their mainstage production schedule for 2006 with the Southeastern Premiere of Tongue of a Bird by Ellen McLaughlin. This lyrical drama features a cast of five professional actors Annemaria Rajala, Elayne Wilks, Lela Elam, Erin Joy Schmidt and Dina Lewis directed by Genie Croft (Artistic Director of The Women's Theatre Project.) The show marks the ninth local premiere for the company, which is the only professional theatre company in the country producing works written by women with all female casts. ABOUT THE PLAY:Maxine, a search-and-rescue pilot, desperately seeks a missing young girl. Haunted by visions of her dead mother, and the lost girl, Maxine struggles to come to terms with her forgotten past. This beautiful play is a lyrical exploration of the relationship between mothers and daughters and of love lost and found. ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT:
