Wingspan Arts Presesnts 'Cabaret' By NYC Youth 4/13
Wingspan Arts announced this year's presentation of the Cabaret Troupe Revue, Listen: Tales of Youth. Performed by a select group of New York City middle school and high school students, this production will play public performances on Saturday, April 12 @ 8:00 PM and Sunday, April 13 @ 7:00 PM at The Shetler Annex (939 Eighth Avenue). In addition to the two public performances, the Wingspan Arts' Cabaret Troupe will perform at Community Centers around the city as part of an outreach program funded in part by a grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
Follow the Wingspan Arts' Cabaret Troupe as they explore themes of youth and growing up – learning to cope with parents, first love, identity and the reality of following your dreams, all set to some of the most exceptional music ever written for the stage. This year's performance will feature songs from shows like Into the Woods, Children of Eden, Runaways and Falsettos. Highlights also include Here's Where I Stand, a number written for the film CAMP, the story of high school students at theatre camp. Come check out this year's Cabaret Troupe – a select group of talented students from an array of New York schools: Stuyvesant High School, Professional Performing Arts School, Eleanor Roosevelt High School, NYC Lab School, Beacon High School and Repertory High School for Theatre Arts, among others.
