Windham Theatre Guild Adds Extra "Princess Parade" to Cinderella Performance 7/26

By:

After a stunning weekend of sold out performances, the Windham Theatre Guild has decided to add the opportunity for all the young Princesses (and we had some Princes) to attend the next matinee performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella: Enchanted Edition on Sunday, July 26th at 2pm. All Princesses and Princes in attendence will receive a Certificate of Royalty, will parade on the Cinderella stage at intermission and will have the opportunity to meet and greet all of the cast members after the show.

Cinderella will be performed July 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th, 31st and August 1st. For ticket prices, reservations and show times, call the Windham Theatre Guild at 423-2245, or you can purchase

tickets on-line at www.windhamtheatreguild.org.

A prince, a pumpkin, a glass slipper ... the Windham Theatre Guild kicks off their 25th season with history's most enduring fairy tale but with a thoroughly modern twist. It's Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. Join some of your favorite WTG stars for the love and laughter as they bring this family classic to life on stage through August 1st at the Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main Street, Willimantic.

Cinderella was the only musical that Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote for television. The CBS-TV original starring 21 year old Julie Andrews was aired live on television on March 31, 1957. The show was re-staged with 18 year old Lesley Ann Warren as Cinderella and aired again on CBS on February 22, 1965. By 1997, Cinderella was produced again for ABC's Wonderful World of Disney and featured an all star cast including Whitney Houston, Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Alexandar, and pop singer Brandy as Cinderella. This hipper funnier version was named the Enchanted Edition.

Pam Pellegrine directs the largest cast that's ever performed together on the Burton Leavitt stage. Music Director is Ken Clark, choreographer is Michelle Swanson, and the stunning costumes were designed by Debbie Warren.

July 24, 25, 30, 31 and August 1 at 7:30pm, and Sunday matinees on July 19 & 26 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $18 for Adults, $15 for students/seniors, and $10 for children under 12. All UConn/ECSU/QVCC students pay $10 with ID. Reserve tickets today by calling 423-2245 or on-line at www.windhamtheatreguild.org. Tickets will also be available at the door.

For everyone who's ever wished their dreams would come true, come be a part of the Windham Theatre Guild's magical, musical story of Cinderella.
