In the second year of the concert series, The Blue Ribbon Presents Global Pop at the Music Center continues to celebrate the performances of popular artists from around the globe. Presented at the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall, Global Pop at the Music Center features some of the most celebrated international pop music stars performing today. Three concerts are planned for this summer, beginning with Korean Pop/R&B singing sensations Wheesung & Lena Park on June 19, 2009 at 8:00pm.

These accomplished artists have huge worldwide followings and we are thrilled to bring them into Walt Disney Concert Hall, so their Southland fans can see and hear thEm Locally. We are also hoping that many of these audience members will be making their first of many visits to the Music Center."
Global Pop at the Music Center is presented by The Blue Ribbon. Founded by Dorothy Chandler in 1968, The Blue Ribbon is a support group of women leaders serving the Center, its resident companies and its arts education programs.

Renowned and celebrated singer Wheesung released his first solo album in 2002 and became an instant sensation in his native Korea. His sophomore album catapulted him into stardom and made him the bestselling artist of 2003. He has collaborated with many artists including Se7en, M-Flo, Lovelyn, Masta Wu, Younha, and Lee Hyori, and most recently British R&B artist Craig David.
From R&B and Korean/Japanese pop, to gospel, Lena Park is an artist with a wide-range of musical stylings. Best known for her impeccable vocals, Lena was selected to represent Korea in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 FIFA World Cup and is an influential singer-songwriter who has released albums and singles in Korean and Japanese. In 2007, she performed the opening theme, "You Raise Me Up", from the Japanese anime TV series, Romeo & Juliet.
