840 E Oakland Park Blvd in Oakland ParkThe Sisters Rosensweig is Wendy Wasserstein's award winning play (Outer Critics Circle Award - Best Play 1993 and Tony Nomination for Best Play) about three Brooklyn Jewish Sisters, a furrier and a bisexual theatre director trying to define themselves and search for happiness in a world that is increasingly complicated and confusing. The three sisters come together at a reunion in London for the eldest's 54th birthday. One sister clings to her Jewish Heritage, another clings to her new British identity, while another travels the world as a "wandering Jew" identifying with the downtrodden in third world countries. Add to the mix a "bisexual" theatrical director running away from his sexuality, a Jewish furrier trying to find happiness in a woman who is emotionally unavailable, and a daughter who is running off with her Liverpool boyfriend.
