Warner Stage Company Announces Additional Auditions for HAIRSPRAY

Additional casting for the role of Corny Collins and two female Dynamites in the Warner Stage Company main stage production of HAIRSPRAY.

1) Seeking one male performer, 30s-45s , Tenor, Vocal Range: D below middle C to above middle C, for the role of Corny Collins- The eccentric and cocky host ofThe Corny Collins Show.

2) Seeking two female African-American singers, 20s-40s, Vocal Range: G below middle C to A above C, forThe Dynamites,a tight harmony, girl group (a la The Supremes).

Rehearsals will be held on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Not all cast members will be called for every rehearsal. There will be one midweek rehearsal on Thursday, November 10th.

ABOUT THE SHOW
HAIRSPRAY is a musical with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittmand and Shaiman and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, based on the 1988 John Waters film Hairspray. In 1962, Baltimore, MD plump teenager Tracy Turnblad's dream is to dance on the Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program based on the real-life Buddy Deane Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight. She then launces a campaign to integrate the show. HAIRSPRAY is a social commentary on the injustices of parts of American society in the 1960s.
